Hi folks - I'm looking to have a simple pave wedding band made to match the stone in my engagement ring (H&A, G, SI1). The wedding band will be in platinum and will have 16 diamonds (1/6 ct total); H & A Melee, G or H, SI1 .

How much should this cost? Thanks!

I would imagine the price would vary by jeweler.

Check out some of the PS vendors. That should give you a good idea.

Also, Engagement Rings Direct (ERD) and Brian Gavin. I'm on my phone and don't know their web addresses off the top of my head...

Good luck!

Could you post a pic of your engagement ring and the width of the shank?
What is your budget and do you want to use (white) gold or platinum for the band.

A custom band can be handforged or CAD/CAST. Prices for 100% handforged will be higher.
Last question: do you want a full or half eternity band (for example to reduce the chance of damaging the stones).

With this additional information we can give you some ideas.

platinum
cast
2mm shank
1/2 eternity band
no photos, sorry!

Oh just saw the Plat part but he can make it in plat too.

Whiteflash.com has a few pave bands. Think one is called the Erica and the other Harmony. Only difference is the width I think and I'm having trouble on my phone pulling up the links. So just go to their site. They can make a half band in Plat as well.

I love the customer service at WF and just bought my er from them!

Thank you. Maybe I should change this to a two part question:

1. Is it worth the price/effort to have a your wedding band stones "match" your engagement stone? My engagement stone is a round, Hearts&Arrows, G, SI1, AGS0. The setting is a six prong solitaire in platinum.

2. So my jeweler is suggesting that I have a simple 1/2 eternity ring with stones that match the quality of the engagement stone. They are suggesting: Hearts and Arrows, Melee, G or H, SI1. Setting is a narrow (2mm?) platinum band. How much should this cost?

Thanks!

In general, I personally think it's worth the price and effort to have H&A (or ACA, BGD, Infinity or other branded ideal cuts) melee in an eternity band because the difference to me is amazing.

As far as color, since I think you're talking about 1 pointers, you don't need to try to match the color exactly. Many vendors who carry thin eternities w/ ideal stones will use a mix of Fs and Gs and they'll look wonderful w/ your center stone.

The main concern I'd have for you is that the wedding band needs to have a low enough profile to ensure that its diamonds don't rub against the prongs on your ering. That's not always an easy thing to find in stock.

So, if I were you I'd first try some of the vendors who carry rings w/ ideal cut melee and see how they work w/ your ring. Most have great return policies, so you can have one sent to you to try out.

If those don't work, before going custom, you may want to look into Memoire for low profile eternities. They're not cheap but they may be less expensive than fully custom, you'd have to see.

Summary: For me, personally, the cut of the stones is definitely worth paying additional money, however I'd look for something that's already out there that would work w/ my ring (ie, low enough profile, great return policy) before going the custom route.
