how much of a difference between aca and facet''s??

Hey all,
I have been deciding what to do with my wedding band and I want to make sure I am considering all of the options. I''ve never bought anything from facets before, but I''ve heard that the stones are high quality.

Would you say there would be a noticeable difference between wf''s ACA facet''s stones for say 10-20 point stones?? Is this difference noticeable to the eye?

I have a shared prong eternity band ring from Facets with 18 pointers, it''s 3.38 tcw, and I love it. The quality of their stones is excellent. I''d get quotes from both. ACA''s would be amazing in an eternity band, but am guessing they will be more expensive than Facets. Another band to consider if you can swing the price is Memoire. Bill Pearlman sells the line. Very well made and the stones are gorgeous!! I bought my ring from facets 2 years ago, I''d hate to think what the price is now!! HTH

I have a half eternity band from SP. .04 pointers. And I have a 3 stone ring with .07 side stones from WF. Both look very bright and white. Some of the diamonds in my SP don''t have full arrows, where as the aca have the arrow pattern. I like them both. Hopefully someone will chime in if they have bigger stones from both.

Thanks for chiming in Kaleigh. It''s a tough decision because facet''s eternity bands would definitely be cheaper, but I sure love the aca line because you know you are getting a wonderful cut. However, people seem to be very satisfied with their facet''s rings. I''m getting a quote from them too to see what the difference with WF will be. I was a tad disappointed that my budget didn''t go as far as I would like with them.

Memoire would be wonderful, but a bit expensive I think. They look very well made though.

Even though the facet''s stones don''t have arrows, do they appear to have about the same light return, sparkle, and fire as the WF aca''s? Glad to hear they both look nice.

Great to know about their return policy, do you know if you can exchange the stones and the band for a different one beyond the return policy?? i.e. like an upgrade program? I didn''t see much on their website about this.

I have heard stories of folks "upgrading" their facets eternity bands after the return period, however, they may have changed their policy''s. Best to just call them and find out for sure.

My money does go quite a bit farther with facet''s, but I want to make sure that there isn''t an eye-noticeable difference in cut quality. Does anyone think I will notice a difference between the two types of melee? I know both will probably be stunning, but I''m a pricescoper and I am overanalyzing every detail.

I do know that with Facets, you can "upgrade" your ring by spending at least what you spent the first time around. So if you have a $1500 ring, you need to spend at least $1500 more. Not sure if there''s a limit on how many trade-ins you can do, or how quickly you can do this after your initial purchase. FWIW, I have a Raphael eternity ring and I love it.

ok, phew...I just wanted to make sure there wouldn''t be a drastic difference in quality or something. I think that is a really good idea to order a facets and then return it if I''m not 100% happy. Sometimes, as a pricescoper I get a little too anal perhaps about cut quality.
