How much for this ring?

This is the ring that my girlfriend wants.

I went to a local jewelry store and they said they can make it for me. They say they get their diamonds directly from the diamond cutter and eliminate several middle men such as distributors, wholesalers, brokers and dealers. I will be going in to haggle the price and was wondering at what price I should start at.

That ring is well... kinda a crappy ring. Invisible set stones like that are well... a cheap way to get a big look but they are not good for long term wear.

I wouldn't pay for custom for that design. Lots of jewelers make that type of ring and they are all the same. Inferior quality stones cobbled together to look big and impress.

If you can talk to your lady and see if she would be willing to get a nice princess solitaire instead or a princess in a diamond setting for the 5,000 budget she would be getting a much nicer quality product.

I don't want her to be disappointed, so please make sure you talk to her... and maybe both of you should do some research at better jewelers that aren't trying to win your business at any cost, or trying to rip you off.

Where you are located... maybe we can recommend a better quality jeweler for you to go visit.
