Honestly, it depends on the fabric. Silks tend to get washed either every time I wear them, or every other time: cottons can go a few more wears, and heavy wool (i.e., my good suits) actually aren't supposed to be cleaned too frequently. I do think it's verging into OCD territory to clean an item for psychological cleanliness as opposed to actual dirtiness ....

I'm in the same boat. Many of my work pants get worn out quicker the more they are washed. I don't wash something until it is actually dirty...besides underwear. I layer a cami with a shelf bra under everything, and ill wear camis 3-4 times before washing it.
I'm really anxious to see what our European PSers say.
When I lived in Europe, my classmates would wear the same outfit back to back for the entire school week. Some would change every 2-3 days, but for the most part, I felt like each day was from the movie Groundhog Day since everyone was in the same thing as the day before. I loved it...made it easier to pick out clothes!
