Hello, I am about to buy the above diamond online. It's a VS1, G colour but doesn't come with a cert giving a cut grade. Can someone tell me how ideal the cut is?
Thanx!

Hi Nelson!

Does this stone come with a grading report at all? This could be an important question.

https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

Selected: 60.6% depth, 60.1% table, 35° crown angle, 41° pavilion angle
The result is for a symmetrical diamond with a medium girdle and very good polish
HCA scores were adjusted Dec. 15, 2001 and Feb. 6, 2003.

Factor Grade
Light Return Very Good
Fire Very Good
Scintillation Good
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 3.0 - Very Good - Worth buying if the price is right

Didn't do too well on the Holloway Cut Advisor (link above). Have you seen any images of this stone yet?

ETA: I believe the HCA is a bit rough on 41 pavilion angles. 60/60 is not what most would consider to be the most desirable cut around here, as it has different look than regualar ideal H&As stones. It can be a very beautiful make, though, lending itself to more brillance than fire, and facing up large for its carat weight. Some prefer this.

It comes with a Sarin machine report
I'll post some images

those photos are disappointing - very artsy but we can't tell you anything useful at all, ask your vendor to get you a picture with a longer depth of field so the entire stone is in focus, not just the one kite - and to back the heck away from the stone when photographing it
