Hi,

I am trying to understand more about the return policy before buying a e-ring.

I know that most reputable online jewelers have 10 or 30days return policy less original shipping cost.

Most of them mention that returned diamond has to be insured and sent via USPS.

But after checking USPS, the maximum insurance they take is only $5000.

How then can you ship back a e-ring which higher than that amount?

Thanks.

I have heard USPS Registered mail will insure for up to $25k, it is a slower method of shipping but very safe, as the package has to be signed for each time it changes hands and is under lock and key when not moving. Also from what I understand, many vendors insist on this method being used for returns.

Does anyone in the UK know who to insure with from here, I emailed our Postal Service before I bought my diamond and was told they do not have that type of insurance, I think it was something like £500 maximum. I have read Fedex in USA only insures if you have a Company account, does anyone know if Fedex in the UK is the same?

No idea. I only know that if someone in the UK wants to ship back to USA to the diamond vendor, the vendor will sometimes accomodate the client by letting them use their Fedex account and insurance to get over this $ limitation.
