How about this round diamond?

The only thing that I might just be a little cautious on is that it states strong flourescent. Just make sure that its not cloudy or milky looking. I'd stress the importance that it is eye clean.

Anyone have any thoughts on this round diamond? The measurements seem to put it in a good position along the HCA calculator and the vendor claims that it''s eye clean.

I know nothing about the HCA calculator (sorry, Garry) because I pledged years ago to leave the numbers-well, most of them-up to the engineers.

I love it that the stone is an ideal cut. I saw that there was no culet. I noticed that the polish wasn''t ideal, which wouldn''t bother me given how good it was. The G color is great. I would want to look at it, given the SI1 grading (of course). The only other thing to discuss is the strong blue fluorescence (I think). How do you feel about that?

I am interested in what other people think. I looove the price on this stone!!!! I have a poorly cut stone that is just a bit larger and I paid through the nose for slightly higher color and clarity. Now I am left wondering how much stone I''d lose if I had it recut!!

Well, D&T and I were posting at the same time, but we were both concerned with the stone being eye clean given its SI1 clarity and we were both concerned about the fluoresecence. I didn''t know enough to be concerned about the crown angle (because the crown angle was represented by a number).

So there you have it ;-).

Thank you both for your thoughts. Diamond flourescence is a bit of a mystery to me. From everything I''ve read it''s usually not a problem but occasionally it will be an issue - a major issue. From what I''ve been told, if the flourescence is an issue it will be very obvious enough where I will want to return it.

So in summary, from what I know about flourescence, I don''t mind it as long as it doesn''t diminish the diamond''s appearance.

It has definite potential, as d&t says check the strong blue fluorescence isn't making the stone look cloudy and also there is a cloud inclusion noted, check also that isn't impacting brilliance. If not then as far as I can tell without an Idealscope image it has potential to be a good looking diamond. From what an expert has taught if fluorescence is having a negative effect apparently it is something you would notice.

Yap, that''s about it. Good luck. :)
