I saw this diamond today at The Houston Science Museum Diamond Exhibit. The exhibit closes soon and I had to get there before it left.
edited to add the golden diamond is 407.48 ct. !
Anyway, for those of you who were thinking of going, IMHO, not worth the $22.00 entrance fee. The exhibit was just kinda, blah. First, it
was small. I didn't like the layout, too crowded, you had to wait too long to look and then read the info cards. Emphasis was on the creation of a diamond.
The actual number of diamond pieces was a lot fewer than I was expecting. Some pieces were quite old, while a few were newer designs. The Incomparable stone was the exhibit's central showpiece. No camera's were allowed, no cell phones. I was prepared to take lots of pics. Besides this huge gold diamond, my other favorite was
a lariat with 2 pinkish diamond briolettes on a gorgeous diamond chain/necklace.
