Holy Oval!!!

Woah! I think both those diamonds are plugged in to an electrical outlet!

Yummy :lickout: I really like ovals especially when they are done with the right setting!

They're so awesome they don't need an outlet LOL! Sarahbear - pave setting with one of these 3 or 4ct!!! Stunning!!!

This is the way to buy a fancy cut, that is for sure. Jonathan picks really great stones! :appl:

oh my goodness definitely! If i had the budget, this video sure would have made up my mind! Although, enormous cushion is what's on my heart. Hopefully he'll have a video of them when I'm in the market, but I'm sure he will. One of these is apparently already spoken for.

I know, I saw that video a few times. Of course I liked the one you didn't, but it had the most sparkle  I'm a huge facet fan. But the one you picked is gorgeous and will look stunning in your setting! How's that coming along? Did I miss a thread somewhere?

Those two stones are stunning. I had no idea that is what an oval can do.

Right?! Amazing. The only thing I don't like about ovals is the bowtie. That's why I'm obsessed with cushions, but ovals are gorgeous too as they tend to have the same faceting as the, imo, correct cushions :Up_to_something:

Tell me about it! I fell in love with ovals 100 yrs ago but once I had Jonathan at GOG find one for me I was officially HEAD OVER HEELS.

I saw this video at around the same time I bought mine, and these are gorgeous but (if I can brag a bit about Jonathan :D), I liked mine a little better. These are both amazing (Jonathan only picks amazing stones), but what caught my eye with the one I chose was that it began to give sparkles in the initial diffused lighting, and I was so surprised! So by the time he showed it in spotlighting, it was ridiculous! He made a video for mine as well, so if anyone's considering ovals and is interested, I'll be happy to post the link.

Meanwhile, since the credit goes to Jonathan & his GOG crew for finding some great stones, I don't feel guilty saying that mine ROCKS! :naughty: ;))

I've had such a LOVE for ovals these days!!! So beautiful!!! Look like Marcy used her Photoshop and made them blinged out!!! Wow!!

Isn't that amazing YT?

For those who are following this thread though, I have to echo what DS wrote about how to go about buying a fancy cut diamond. It's a little tougher than the ideal cuts where you can make a lot of decisions from the data alone. You have to actually see a fancy cut perform for yourself, so if you're not able to actually visit the jeweler, these comparison videos are a must.

As a non-recovering "ovalholic" :D , in the past I learned the hard way that an oval is not an OVAL, so I was so grateful to find Jonathan at Good Old Gold! He really has an amazing level of knowledge & expertise for choosing some super high performing fancies and, as you know, my oval had to hold it's own while surrounded by H&A melee. ;))

My ER (25 years old now) is an oval with a minimun bowtie. It is all about the proper proportions and cut. It is my favorite cut!
