AHHHHHHH!

I just wanted to vent. I was reviewing a cover letter that I sent out with my resume a few weeks ago and I noticed that I had the right name and address but the wrong office name. Not only that, the office I put down is the polar opposite of the one I applied to. I wrote "Office of the Public Defender" instead of "District Attorney''s Office" !!! Argh, my brain was exhausted when I wrote the letter. I had someone proofread it too, and they didn''t catch it.

Funny thing is, I was already called for an interview and I''m just waiting for a decision. I hope they don''t notice it when they review my file again.

I am kicking myself right now.

Don''t worry about it, especially once you''ve interviewed.

Typos happen.
Goodluck!

Scintillating...

I''ve been in HR before and I would say that if they didn''t notice it before they gave you an interview, than they probably won''t notice it at all. Did you write them a thank you letter after your interview? Thats always a good way for them to remember you.

let us know what happens...

I just filed something in court. In my previous filing, I noticed that I had forgotten to change the county the court was located in. So, somewhere in the file is my retarded filing with the wrong county right smack on top. We all make mistakes. Hopefully, you can explain it away. Good luck.

If they haven''t noticed it by now, then you should be OK!

What matters now is what you do moving forward.

GOOD LUCK!

speaking of typos... just to make you smile... :D

the other day at my dr office I caught a funny one.... on the door was a note that said:

Drug Reps:
We are not seeing reps today
Please make an appointment.
Sorry for the incontenance.

Honestly, I wouldn''t worry about it.

I generally think that cover letters are not that important in the legal profession...and your cover letter is now safely in the file, behind your resume, writing sample, references...

And if it makes you feel any better...I was going through interviewing my second year of law school and there were two firms that had relatively similar names.

Reed Smith and Thorp Reed.

Reed Smith is a large, international firm and Thorp Reed is a more local firm - still decent sized.

My interview with Reed Smith went well. It was definitely in my top contenders for a summer associate position. I also interviewed at Thorp Reed...and proceeded to call them Reed Smith at my on campus interview (asked the partner what they thought made REED SMITH a good firm to work for) and I did it AGAIN at my call back interview.

I still got an offer from both firms...
