i just want to say that today i got up off my butt and worked out for an hour even though i had cookies here tempting me, and i actually had a good time! i watched that animated rudolph movie lol
its just me, fi and the cat for christmas so i dont have to worry about all of mom''s cooking that tastes soooo good, but fi''s grandma sent a bunch of cookies and fudge, good thing he has a sweet tooth to eat it all haha
my kitty says hello, he tried to help me type this :)
merry xmas everyone!

We are having a bumper dinner complete with turkey, alcohol, dessert etc, so I dragged my butt out of bed and jumped on the exercise bike for 30 mins first thing this morning. I know it won''t negate the bad deeds I am going to committ tonight, but at least it will help a little.

Happy holidays everyone!

I haven''t been too good this week, I''ve only worked out twice. Christmas eve I was good though, and did 90 minutes of Cardio.

I''m slowly but surely making it. I''m down 10 pounds since October. :)

Hey ladies, hope you are not all feeling like Christmas puddings!!!

I find that I need to have a goal when starting exercising. I will do just 30 mins everyday for a week, then when I have reached that, I will aim for two weeks, then when I have reached two weeks, I aim for 1 month and so on and then I find it easy to do. I find that if I park my exercise bike or crosstrainer in front of the telly, then it''s easy to get the 30 mins (or more done). When my arthritis is playing up, I will aim for only 10 mins (better than nothing, and I don''t want to risk a major flare up), but I usually find I do the 30 mins anyway.

I also got into my gym yesterday and did my weights session!! I have a fully fitted out gym at home practically so there should be any excuses!! Tuckshop ladies - you have been given notice!!!!

Exercised 3/3 days so far!!!! Here''s to a healthy and slimmer 2009!!!!!

Hope everyone is going well too!!

I hope this thread will keep going. I''m trying to tone up for my wedding in July. 7 months, and with my dress as a motivation, I''m hoping to stick with it. My fiance is trying to lose 40 pounds! If nothing else, I need to do this for him!!!

I did these exercises the other day with a kettlebell. Have any of you heard of them? They are like a cannonball (small...10 pounds!) with a handle on it. I did it for about 30 minutes and I was SO sore. It was such a good workout for my legs/butt. But not my arms. I''ve got to get online to find some good arm exercises. And then cardio....argh....I HATE cardio.

I''ve never posted to this thread before, so I hope to get tips and mainly motivation from you girls!!! I like the idea of goals-setting like Honey22 suggested. That sounds like something I could live by.

Hope the holidays didn''t get anyone off track!!!

Hey gals it sounds like everyone is doing great through the holidays! How did things go for you Smurfy? Sounds like you''re doing a great job working out, too. Awesome about going to the gym everyone! And angielea working out on Christmas eve was awesome of you. How is it going this week for ya honey? Sounds like you were doing great last time we heard. Welcome Lanie

! I know you can do it, the wedding will be here before you know it and you''ll be looking great (but I am sure you look great already).

Well tomorrow is my bday so I am off to celebrate a bit and ring in the new year! Happy new year everyone!

I am doing good! I have only missed one day of exercise so far since I started my goal. I had a really really emotional day yesterday with a few major family issues and I spent most of the afternoon crying and then gave myself a massive headache, and went out last night for New Years so I missed my session. I know it''s not an excuse and I feel really bummed about missing a day, but I am not giving up. Straight back into it today. My bike will be my friend. My weights my comfort!

Umm yeah, maybe if I keep telling myself that, I will start to believe it

Sending lots of healthy slim dust to everyone. It''s a New Year, time for a new healthier happier body!!!!

Lanie I''m in the same boat!

Wedding is Aug 1, so I have just about the same amount of months. I''ve been engaged for almost a year, so I probably should have done something by now, but I am a wee bit of a procrastinator so I know I really have to get going!

My issue is that my dress does not fit. I guess, I should be more specific before anyone freaks out. The entire dress actually does fit, except for the top 3 inches of the zipper, which will not close, because I have a larger than life chest. So my goal is to try to get as fit as I can in a healthy way, so that the alterations won''t have to be so extreme. I''m also using a corset which should help!

I''m an occasional poster here, and am looking forward to participating in this particular thread. Thanks Sarah for keeping it up!

I''d like to start posting here :). My goal weight for the wedding is 117 and I''m about 130 now (I weighed myself for the first time in almost a year a few days ago). Not getting married until November, but I have a round face and a tendency for chubby cheeks in photos so I''d like to jump start this (thinking of engagement photos). I was very bad over the holidays and am drinking wine as I type. I cannot give up wine, so I guess I will have to really watch my calories and exercise during the week so that I can have a glass or 2 on the weekends.

Yep! I''m down 17 pounds for the year. It has been slow and not very steady, but at least it is gone. The past two weeks have been hard - no hiking! I''m still eating pretty well and hopefully haven''t gained. Hiking starts again tomorrow - hurray!
