My mother recently passed away and I have been cleaning out her house. I came across a beautiful jewelry set, in the original box, of hodota ivory. I’m assuming this was something my father purchased while overseas in the military. Can anyone tell me anything about this jewelry and what I should do with it? Thanks in advance for any information! You can either keep it, or give it away.
It is illegal to sell ivory, since it was banned some time ago.
However, it still shows up at thrift stores and flea markets.
I would totally wear that bracelet, it is beautiful. Wearing it would at least honor the elephant in some way.
You could also repurpose it. I can see the medallion and earring rosettes mounted on the lid of a small wooden jewelry box.

I personally think you should wear it if you are so inclined. It does no good to any cause or anyone to throw the jewelry away at this point. It’s very pretty.
