I know you guys have some interesting or funny diamond stories to share, please do. Here's mine:
I posted an ad on craigslist when I first got into gems about four months ago. I just remembered now because I found the file in my emails and started laughing out loud (unfortunately, I didn't use PS back then )! In the craigslist ad I said I was interested in purchasing any lose gemstones people had. I got a call from a guy offering to sell me a rare pink diamond...for only $1000!! I was of course in disbelief but I decided to try it because what if he just didn't know what he had, it's possible right?
He came over to my house to show me the stone, I sat him down and offered him an iced tea which he promptly decline. He was wearing a fedora and had some thick scruff. I asked to see the gem and he pulled out a pink CZ, neatly wrapped in a paper towel. I came pretty close to laughing, I mean this was only a couple of steps above a rhinestone. I told him about my disbelief of its authenticity and he nervously handed me a handed me a report. I remembered, he had attached something as an email and now I get to share it with all of you (I was living in Maine at the time) (Normally a scam like this would get me but this was just so pathetic it's funny):
