HGTV is gone..

I love HGTV and watch it all the time. I went to turn it on yesterday and the screen had message on it that Cablevision and Scripps networks couldn''t negotiate a detail to keep the channels on. Their contract ended on December 31st. Food Network is also gone.

I feel your pain!! I think this affects CT, NJ and NY Cablevision subscribers only. I''m hoping they reach an agreement soon . . .

I know, we are affected by it and are so annoyed! My husband especially loves Food Network and I used to be obsessed with HGTV when we moved into our townhouse... hopefully they work something out.

This happened to us last year with a couple channels. We had everything back within the first week of January. Fingers crossed that you will too!! I don''t know what I''d do if I lost HGTV!!

Glad this doesn''t include my state as I''ve finally begun watching the food network. It''s inspired me to try new dishes outside of our normal daily staples. Dh is happy but the kids refuse to eat any of the stuff I''ve whipped up.

Oops, sorry, didn''t mean to freak anyone out unnecessarily! It has been a tough 3 weeks here in CT. Grrr. I had stopped checking to see if there was programming and not the message from Cablevision explaining the dispute, so I just wanted to spread the good news!!

NY here. They took my HGTV AND Foodnetwork - two of my favorite channels

I had the initial "oh no!" when I first read this thread too. good thing my area is not effected. phew!

I love both of those channels- they are some of the few that I actually do watch. I would be rather sad if I couldn''t get them

When I lived in Brooklyn, there was always something going on with cablevision. they can''t seem to ever negotiate a contract and time warner wasn''t available.

As soon as I moved back to the city, back to time warner i went. Hate cablevision.
