Hi Moh,

Thought it was about time you had your own WW! I am so glad you are here, we can always rely on you for great posts and assistance as well as a good giggle! So I was hoping we could learn more about you if you are comfortable with that?

I know you have THE MOST beautiful piano and a very pretty pinky diamond. You have a brilliant sense of humour which comes across so well!

So tell us more? Apart from playing the piano, what do you do for fun? Fave foods and interests? What is next on your bling list?

Nice timing Lorelei. I was going to start a WW for Moh when I got home, so I get here and find you got the jump.

Waiting to hear more Moh.

Oye Vey, I wasn't expecting company.

Let me do something with this hair.

Okay, I''m not good at serious posts.
I''m more of a goofy guy.

I am a piano technician starting a business in the Los Angeles area.
I was an engineer at a major aerospace company for 23 years and got laid off last year.
I attended a University Program on Piano Technology, which is the fastest way to learn much about this very complex and fascinating field.

I am a hybrid car nut.
I''m on my third hybrid, a Honda Insight.
I''m a hypermiler who tries all these nutty things to get as much distance as possible out of a tank of gas.
You DON''T want to be in a hurry and drive behind me.

We have piano parties and invite friends over to take turns at the piano.
It''s very informal and old fashioned.
The pianists range from beginning kids to actual concert pianists.
It is a potluck and wine and beer is served so at first people are shy and don''t want to play and later everyone lets their hair down and has a blast.

No new bling plans.
I love Thai and Indian food and do not like fried foods or fast food.
I watch no TV and spend way too much time online.

I see that we have at least two rocket scientists [former, at least] on the boards!

I love you piano. The piano parties look like a lot of fun. IKWYM about the playing after a few "rounds"! LOL!

Love the red nails too!

Moh, I''m so happy to see that a WW thread has been started for you! You didn''t show up on my radar here on PS until you posted pics of your fantastic piano in Hangout...I''m intrigued and glad to have another pianist on board here. I''ve played since I was 6, went through sort of a love/hate relationship with the piano but it turns out that it''s more of a love affair after all. My piano is currently in Chicago and I may never get it back, but I''m finished lamenting that possible loss as I realize I can always get another one. It wasn''t anything as stupendous as yours, just a Pearl River upright. It was what I could afford at the time I bought it, and it served me well. My grandmother was a concert violinist and pianist, my mother loved to play but apparently the saying that musical talent skips a generation was true...she plays well enough but never had the patience to really become great.

Love the pic of your piano party! I would absolutely love to have someone like you in my life, whose home I might be invited into to share in some revelry and partake of musical genius. Good times!

You are a goofball, but your brand of goofiness is a bit different from some we''ve seen on PS, it''s refreshing! Your comment about being a hypermiler reminds me of the movie "The Jane Austen Book Club"...there was a gent in that flick who was testing out different sorts of biofuels in his very old Volvo, I believe, and his date was very upset about having to walk the last mile or so to a function at one point in the movie. I also have a very dear friend who has built several vehicles and is fueling them with all sorts of green things...it may turn out to be a lucrative hobby for her someday. She was our high school valedictorian and is a brilliant French professor, and I used to accompany her in recitals (she was a violinist). Gee, I''m making this post more about me, sorry! Just wanted to relate to you a bit more, I suppose!

I can''t play for sh*t after a few...although I think I play better at that point, I would hate to be a listener and have to endure my musical ramblings after several glasses of wine or beer!

I thought you were a New Yorker? But it seems you''re in LA now? I must have you confused with another MOH10. LOL

Goofball IS a compliment. Thanks.
I have always been off the wall.

I get such good MPG that when I take my car to the dealer they bring everyone over to see the MPG reading on the dash board.
They can't believe it.
Lots of customers whine because they MPG is below EPA.
Mine averages 20 MPG above.

We had a few Pearl Rivers at school.
They are a good value and the quality has increased tremendously in the last few years.
The Chinese are doing what the Japanese did in the 60s and the Koreans in the 70s - taking over the entry level market.
There is speculation in a few decades when Chinese labor is no longer cheap Africa is the next frontier.

I play classical music on piano and at parties I always have to play before I drink any wine.
I can play guitar quite well since I've been playing since I was an embryo.
My guitar playing improves with alcohol but my ability to play classical music on piano degrades instantly after so much as smelling a glass of wine.
Weird.

I taught myself to play guitar by ear listening to Bob Dylan and Joan Baez records in the 60s.
Now I play James Taylor type stuff and sing.
I'm so comfortable playing guitar I could play in my sleep.
Piano however requires my FULL concentration.

I started piano, and learning to read music properly, in in my early 40s so it will never be deep in my bones like it can be for you since you started so young.
I think I play piano fairly well for only playing about 11 years.
I play and have memorized the second movement of Mozart Sonata K.333, a couple Chopin Nocturnes, preludes, Bach's Goldberg Variation Aria, a Ravel Prelude and am working on Pavane for a Dead Princess.

There is absolutely NOTHING as wonderful as playing piano.
Nothing!

What guitar do you play Moh? I tried acoustic guitar years ago but couldn't get on with it. Piano is another story, I began to play age 11 but my sight reading is not good. I can't just sit down to a new piece and instantly play it unlike some talented souls, I have to work on it but once I have learned a piece then I don't need the music, I play from memory.

I love the classics, Chopin, Beethoven in particular. Modern stuff Burt Bacharach and Barry Manilow. I find playing classics much easier than modern and I am not great with chords, my hands are too stiff and even though I have large hands I can't hit large chords very well. My fave classic piece is one of the movements of Sonata Pathetique, it took a while to learn but it was worth it.

Purty nails BTW, nice contrast to your purple sweater.
