Here''s a laugh: my BF''s def of "soon"

So, I came out and asked my BF what the h he was thinking when back in July he said I''d have a ring "soon". I asked him what was in his head at the time. So get this.. he said he didn''t have ANY specific time in mind, just when he''d "be able to afford it"... HUH? OMG I almost fell off my chair.

That is the stupidest thing I''ve ever heard. Ok just wanted to share that so you can have a good laugh...

I think you need to have a longer talk with your BF..doesnt sound like you two are on the same page. It would be a shame to set yourself up for disappointment if a proposal isnt coming soon.

I agree it doesn''t seem like you''re on the same page, it sounds like an engagement could still be a few years away to be honest. I know you mentioned a summer wedding but unless he''s really good at throwing you off I just don''t see how that would happen.

I agree with the other ladies. You just need to sit down and have a straightforward conversation. Ask him to be honest with you and give you a reasonable estimate. Tell him you were confused by his comment in July and don''t want any more confusion. If he thinks it won''t be for another year, thank him for an honest answer. Just tell him you want to make sure you''re both on the same page.

i agree completely. i believe there is t-shirt that says that. i have been wanting it for years

Just to make it clear - he was telling me what he was thinking back in July. When he got home we had a long talk and he said this winter! We''ll see if he lives up to that now. He said he knows the kind of ring he wants to get.
