After looking for the past two months online and in B&M''s, I went to a small local jeweler that appears reputable.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am interested in your opinions regarding the following loose round diamond:
EGL-Israel Certification:
1.50 carats
"Tolkowski ideal Cut"
Measurements: 7.32mm x 7.28mm x 4.54mm
Depth: 62.2%
Table: 58%
Crown: 15%
Pavillion: 43%
Girdle: Slightly Thick, Faceted
Culet: None
Polish: Good to Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Color: H
Clarity: SI1
Fluor: None
The stone looks great to my eyes and is "eye clean" with a lot of life and sparkle.
The jeweler honestly told me it would end up being an SI2 if graded by GIA but he felt the H color was a correct designation no matter which lab.
He is looking for $7,400 for the ring (which would include setting and mounting it in a 4-prong platinum solitaire setting).
Would I be paying too much? If so, what would you offer?
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Happy (American-style) Thanksgiving to all of you.
Jeff
