Looking for a pretty, natural looking lipstick. no plum shades or nude shades for me. Have a sort of pink, red, orangey mix in mind. Any ideas? Please include a picture if you have one!

burt''s bees merlot?

natural looking without nude and having your color scheme is mutually exlusive to me, unless you are going with a shade a similar to but a little deeper than your own lip color. Stila Robin is pretty, but since everyone has different lip pigmentation, it is hard to say without seeing you. Best to go to a Sephora type store and see about it in person. Other than those chalky muddy nudes, this could be the best bet...

I think you should go to a makeup counter and try a bunch of stuff on and take pictures of each one. Then you could post them here and we could pick. I think it''s sooo hard to pick a lipstick shade without trying it on.

I agree...so many things affect a color, will it change, your chemistry, etc...so it is best to try on and wear it for a bit...

HI:

Agreed with trying on a few colors and brands; a few facials before my wedding determined I couldn't wear EL and Lancome lipsticks....

cheers--Sharon

How about benefit's benetint? Used judiciously it's a great boost to your natrual color, plus it's a great long lasting blush as well! (I use it on a damp make-up sponge). I have the lip balm which has the most natural look and also the pocketpal which has benetint on one side and a high shine gloss on the other. It lasts so long it's like one of those long wearing lipsticks. Plus it smells wonderfully of roses. I get it at Sephora.

Another idea is a neutral lip liner similar to your natrual lip color and Rosebud Balm #1 applied with a lip brush. Try it and you'll be amazed at how great your lips look! I don't know how but it really boosts your natrual lip color.

ETA: I'm blanking on the maker, but I use a rosewood color lip pencil.

I would go with Bobbi Brown. Her line has TONS of neutrals.

One all-time favorite is MAC spice lipliner with MAC Twig lipstick. That''s a staple of Katie Holmes.

But it really depends on your skintone. What looks good on one person won''t on another.
MAC makeup artists are wonderful at picking colors that will enhance your beauty. The right color will make you look brighter, lovelier & more striking. Try lots of different looks! Get your makeup done for trials... that''s a good way to "find" the right color!

Good luck!
