Help with J colored diamond

Hi! I’m so happy to have found this forum. Unfortunately it was after we had already purchased an upgraded set for Christmas/15 year anniversary that doesn’t have much sparkle because of the bad cut. Luckily there is a 60 day return period so I can start over :)

Sooo now I’m looking for the best bang for my buck. I have approximately 7k to spend on the diamond and have realized that I’m not color sensitive so it seems like a J color would be the best value to get a little bigger. I’ve been looking at ACA’s from WF and am wondering if that’s what I should go with.

Are there any others out there that I should look at?

TIA!

Congratulations on that anniversary!

I am glad you are able to start over! Having a well cut diamond really makes all the difference. I think ACA is a great choice and it allows you to get another upgrade in the future too!

If you see a diamond you like put it on hold quickly whilst you investigate it. I'm not sure if you mean for the whole ring or just the central diamond so here's a couple of options for you:

I would like:

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4007485.htm and it's under budget but over a carat.

For this one: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4037183.htm
You would need to really talk to them about the inclusions in this one, but Whiteflash are exceptionally honest. It says it's eye clean but that's from 10 inches away from the face of the diamond and you may want to have a different definition. But they would be honest with you. Please remember that the videos are very magnified so don't be worried by it. Also the angles on that one are beautiful.

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4066992.htm Identical story to the one above really. :geek2:

I just found a nice I coloured one but it has a knot in the plot so that ruled that one out.

I'm sure other people will chip in, I am certainly not an expert so if anyone looks at my choices and thinks they need a bit of modifying please let me know too!!! :) But they're all ACAs so it's difficult to go too wrong.

WF ACAs are a bit less expensive than other super ideal vendors. So I would say that would be the best choice given you desire for size within budget. Nonetheless it would be worth it to look at Brian Gavin diamonds. What carat size roughly are you hoping to get?

I’m hoping for at least a 1 carat

Thanks for all your replies so far! While I’m waiting for WF to answer a few questions, I’m still browsing. Any thoughts on this one? It’s a little above budget but has medium fluorescence that may help it appear more white from what I’ve read and of course it’s a larger size that I most likely wouldn’t want to upgrade in the future. It scores a little low on hca at .9

That stone looks beautiful if that's the ASET of it. VVS1 is a bit overkill in my books (I would rather go down in clarity whilst remaining eye clean and either up in size or colour) and personally I would want the upgrade policy from Whiteflash but I don't actually know what the upgrade policy is for Four Mine.

It’s also listed on James Allen as one of their True Hearts for $1600 more so I went ahead and pulled the trigger to see it in person. They have a 30 day return period so it will give me time to look it over. I originally thought I’d definitely want the upgrade benefits of WF when I was looking at 1 carat but now with this being a 1.5 carat and if it works out, it’ll be my forever :)

$8k for a well cut 1.5ct diamond seems like a GREAT deal. Congrats!
