Thoughts on this diamond? Good performer? It was only 2.5 on the HCA, but the images look quite good, IMO. The jeweler said it should perform very well, although I have yet to see it in person. She would rather have a fairly clean Si2 and a larger stone, vs the "totally eye clean but smaller" trade that others make. Her current diamond is Si2 and it doesn't bother her in the least. Size and light return are the main priorities for her. This one looked like a lot of diamond for the money, as long as it performs up to an "AGS light performance 0 grade" level.

For reference, here is a link to a "Premium Select" from Whiteflash with the same HCA score

I understand she wants big, but I'm nervous about surface graining on an SI2 as that to me can impact how crisp the diamond can look. I think you would definitely need an experienced and impartial eye, ie: not the seller of the diamond, give an honest opinion.

Here is a real pic

I mean an experienced person would have to examine this in real life. I am not an expert and can only share what I've seen. I can't for the life of me tell if the surface graining will be evident in real life from the picture above. Maybe other posters have more useful feedback.

My understanding is that the same HCA score between the two diamonds does not necessarily translate to the same AGS grade, meaning this is not transitive.

Keep looking. You can find better that meets your criteria
