689EB259-229D-4417-B308-EC6D696AAAE7.jpeg hello! Not sure if there is a specific board for this type of thing but I couldn’t find one  and figured since the setting will have lab diamonds it might be okay to post here.

I’m having a setting made by starsgem and I need some help! I’ve never had a setting made and I’m getting lost in the world of what melee size to get where.

I am after a dainty halo look, not like micro pave but not overbearing either. Will having 1mm on the halo but 1.7mm on the band look odd? Is 1mm on the halo too small?

Any help is much appreciated :D

I like the design :) but I am no expert on CAD images or ring design! :(

I think you'll need to have smaller stones in the Halo than the Shank because if you don't, either the shank will look 'under-blinged' or the halo will look 'over-stoned'??

The latter, with 1.7mm stones in the halo, would be a lot of bling, though ;-) :D

I would look at SMTB for halo inspiration. People usually prefer to have the halo angled down slightly. I prefer the look of the melee to match or be slightly larger in the halo, but that’s just a personal preference. How many mm is your main stone? The image is a little blurry so I can’t tell how the prongs fit in the halo. Have you seen any examples of their completed work?

Thank you for your feedback!
After a bit of research I realised that yes they needed to be smaller than the shank. I did ask her to up the halo diamonds to 1.3mm and lift the diamond slightly so it’s not as flush.

Thank you! I will have a look at those.
I upped the halo diamonds to 1.3mm. I don’t want a very large halo it’s not really to add finger coverage, I just like halos and the extra little sparkle. The centre LB is 7.3mm. Yes sorry it did come out a little blurry, they are claw prongs on the inside of the halo.
Yes I have seen a lot of their work, it’s very good, if there are any issues it’s more a case of people not really knowing how to work with cads (me lol) and sometimes getting a little lost in translation.

So 7.3mm stone, 1.3mm halo and 1.7mm shank; right? I think that sounds nice.
