Hey guys,
Im new to the forum but have read many posts and would like help on choosing a diamond from those who obviously know more than I do. Im in the search for a:

Princess Cut Diamond
Excellent Cut
.90ct -1 carat
VS1-VS2 in clarity
H-J color diamond
My budget is 2000-3000 dollar range.

I will be setting it in a Verragio 124p. (Link Below)

Questions
Would be would a J color look off next to 2 G color sides stone that the setting comes with?

Anyone have good experience with the two websites below?
http://www.genesisdiamonds.net/
http://www.uniondiamond.com/

Also I post a GIA report below any reason why it would be in the market for so long is that a bad thing?

I've been looking at diamonds on genesis diamond which is where I got my setting from. They have really competitive prices when it comes to diamonds. Also i've been on union diamond which also has competitive prices.

In my own humble opinion, you should step down on size and increase on color. I also recommend not buying a diamond without seeing it. I had someone give me this recommendation and it is the best recommendation I could have gotten. I would think a J color would look more yellow next to some G color diamonds but, some people honestly can't tell the difference. I can personally see a yellow tinge in a J color stone next to a colorless one (D,E,F) but, don't think I've ever compared to a J.

My recommendation is to not buy sight unseen from BN. You can get a diamond from blue nile in the range of your pricing but, it will likely be a J color with a "good" cut for around .9 carats.

It really just depends on what is personally important for you (and your bride to be) in the diamond. For example, my wife would have shot me if I picked the same setting as you and picked a princess cut. To each their own.

Thank you for your opinion. Yeah she kind of hinted she wanted a princess cut and three stones so thats what I went for. She doesnt really know to much about diamonds but I do want to get her the best with the budget I have. But Im kind of stuck here. I ordered the setting already and not thinking ordered it so that the side stones would be portioned to a .90 to a 1 carat diamond. DUMB MOVE. The setting is ready just trying to find the right diamond.

I have to go a but over my budget but these are my two options. Any opinions?

True hearts Ideal Diamond
.94 ct
I color
VS1

I dont know if there's anything else I should be asking for to make a choice.

ABSOLUTELY get her what she wants. If she wants a princess, get her a princess.

And yes, buying the setting first is not what we recommend at all.

Ask for as ASET of this one : : http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/0.90-carat-h-color-vvs1-clarity-sku-283495 Very bright stone and higher color (which helps with princesses)

Then post the ASETs for all three and we'll help you decide.

I also like this stone a lot too:

And then one of the I's you had picked above:

I prefer this one: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/0.94-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-sku-295292 of those two.

But I would try ASETs for the other two as well. They are very nice stones.

Hey I got the ASETS for the diamonds you recommended from James Allen.

Can people give me opinions? Trying to proceed with a diamond I have basically 2-3 weeks before I propose!

When I look at the asets it looks like the I (middle stone) has the best but to be honest I
Like the 2 other stones better. The I has a lot of contrast when its not straight on while the
Other 2 stones seem to have less (IMO) .

You could ask the gemologist to talk you through the 3 stones and tell you what they see.
