I am working on finalizing my CADs and was hoping to get your crowdsource advice! First, the height of my settings are 7.53mm according to the CAD. Is that too high (see pictures below)? My stone is about 6.89 mm (1.22 carat) and my ring size is 6.5.

I am looking at two different styles for the head of my diamond.

Option 1 (U shaped prong) - nice clean lines but lots of open space under the stone... does it make the stone look small because of the space?:

Option 2 (Y shapes prongs) - this hides the open space but the lines look more busy to me.

Please let me know if you like Option 1 or Option 2!

Alternatively, I am thinking about lowering the setting of Option 1 to either 7 mm or 6.75 mm to get rid of some of the space under the stone. Do you guys think that would be better?

I like option 1 better and yes to lowering the crown height so the culet sits just above the shank.

I like option 2, but either way, I'd lower the setting. That high, you will be banging it. Trust me, I have learned.

I prefer the lines of option 2. Both options are nice though. I would definitely lower the height of the stone.
