Sight unseen I''d go for the better clarity however it will face up slightly smaller. Unfortunatley you are going to get a lot of responses asking for pics because you will have no idea what the windmills, color patterns, etc. look like for a stone without pics.

As a fellow Asscher owner, I think it looks beautiful and very sparkly! Do you know the depth and table percentages? I know that storm is the Asscher expert here at PS, so maybe he can provide some insight.

It does look very lovely to me, though! Asschers do tend to face up smaller than their carat weight. It all depends on the cut, however. My Asscher has a larger table than most seem to think is acceptable (68%) and it faces up larger than it''s carat weight (it''s 1.19 but looks like 1.35). I happen to like the look of a slightly larger table, as some do, and you might be one of those people - who knows. The best advice I can give you is to look at the stones in person, because Asschers really are all subjective to the eye. Numbers can tell you a little bit about them, but looking at them in their pure natural beauty is the only way to really appreciate them.

Lil Misfit...Which stone are you refering to? There are three posted above.

I like the one on GOG and going with them you are pretty much going to get a great stone but I would call and see what else they have in their inventory.

I was referring to the last pic the OP posted, from GOG.

1st - no way its going to be eyeclean, that depth and table it likely has a flat crown, no go.

2nd - vthn girdle no way in my book

3rd is a good one

Totally agree with Strmdr. Cut is ABSOLUTELY critical on an Asscher. I know you want a large size or one that faces up large, but without proper proportions, the stone will look dead, like a piece of glass or worse. I would sacrifice size or color (and clarity, to a point) for cut proportions, if price is critical. That said, the goodoldgold stone is the best of the lot. You want a table % in the mid 50s to low 60s and a depth bigger than the table, at least low/mid 60s up to 70s (67-70 is best I think).

I''d be real careful on clarity--if I had to, I''d go down in color and up in clarity, especially with a larger stone, where an SI1 or SI2 may not be eye clean.

I can tell you that my budget allowed me to get a lower color, lower clarity stone in a 2ct, but in the end I went with a 1.57ct with E color and VS1, 55% table, 68% depth and 16.7% crown height, and it has such great light performance that it actually looks a lot bigger than it is. Depending on taste, the whiter stones really stand out.

considering the amount of head shadow(lens shadow in this case)and how well it looks with it in the picture it has to be stunning in person when the light can really get to it!
congrates!

Yes, the photo doesn''t really do it justice--it doesn''t have any dark areas when viewed under flat light and sparkle-inducing light. It has great fire (not even counting the fire from the pave). The photo on my fiancee''s hand (small and blurry) is very representative of what it looks like in normal light--very white.
