My girlfriend wants a canary and there is about 5% as much information out there as for white diamonds. Can you help me sanity check this purchase? I don''t know how to judge pricing on yellow diamonds and I want to be sure I''m not being taken for a ride!
Here''s the stone:
$9700, Cushion modified brilliant cut, 1.21 carats, 6.80 x 5.70 x 3.60mm
Natural Fancy Yellow with even distribution
Table size: 65%
Total depth: 63.2%
Crown angle: 33.2%
Crown height: 13.5%
Pavil angle: 40.7%
Pavil Depth: 43.1%
The dealer said it''s a VS2 but that''s not on the GIA report. Only the origin, grade and distribution are listed on the GIA report I have access to. Those angles/percentages above come from a megascope report. They told me this one looks considerably better than a shy-1carat stone they found previously but the price is not that much more (< $2k more).
Many thanks for your advice!
