Hello All,
First of all, I wanted to thank everyone in this community. I am brand new and the wealth of info here is impressive. I need some help with an oval diamond for an engagement ring. My budget is $3,500. The setting will be a very simple yellow gold solitaire band. Seems like most stones in my budget are .90s. However, I am hopeful I can find a 1 ct with a little digging. Any guidance or suggestions? One thing I've learned is that color might not be a huge priority with a yellow gold setting. Any help is much appreciated!

I find that 'sample images' of the last 5 make it difficult to judge. When you have a fancy cut you really want to see the stone IRL as it behaves differently and merely relying upon a 'good' cut does not help at all. You need to study the dimensions, address the bow situation and leakage. IMHO, do not go below a H color in an oval as it can show the color more. It is my fave cut so take your time and find the right stone. There are lots of posts here about the oval cut.
