I love Ariana Grande’s engagement ring. It’s got this big oval diamond (5–6 carats, maybe?) and a pearl next to it, which I read came from her grandpa’s tie pin. The angled design makes it feel super modern, and apparently, it’s worth $200k–$300k. Obviously, I’m not spending that much, but I just love the whole sentimental vibe of it! My budget is around $4000.

I was wondering:
- Which jeweler can help me recreate this diamond-pearl combo?
- Should I go with a lab-grown diamond or stick to natural?

I’ve found some potential jewelers in this forum, but I’d love your thoughts if you’ve worked with any of them or have other recs:
David Yurman Cartier Tiffany & Co Brilliant Earth Ritani Lauren B Jewelry Blue Nile Costco Diamond Rings Angara Vera Wang Rings Worthy Harry Winston Sam’s Club Jewelry Abazias Zales Kay Jewelers Brilliance Grown Brilliance VRAI Whiteflash REEDS Jewelers Helzberg Diamonds
Or maybe I should find a local jeweler here in Atlanta? Any recs for that?

Would love your tips and advice—I'll keep y’all updated!

You'll need to go with lab grown in that budget to get anywhere close to that proportion.

If I wanted to make this ring, I would go to David Klass for the setting and would post to the Lab Grown Diamonds forum for help selecting a diamond: https://www.pricescope.com/community/forums/lab-grown-diamonds-man-made-diamonds-mmd.60/ For the pearl, you could see if the setting jeweler can source it or, if you're picky, you could reach out to Andrew Moline and Pearl Paradise to see if you can buy a single loose pearl. Since it's only one pearl, I feel like it's worth springing for an Akoya which will have more luster than a freshwater pearl, though freshwater pearls are potentially a bit sturdier. Keep in mind that the pearl may need to be replaced eventually, depending on how you wear this ring.

Ok I’ll be the person to tell you to halt and not make this ring. I’m thinking daily wear engagement ring needs, and the first thing needed is for the ring to stand up to life. The pearl is not suited for daily wear or cleaning like a diamond. There are super cool toi et moi designs with two diamonds that would be hardier. If you really want a pearl, would you consider a stacking design?

This is not a difficult ring to make, nor would the setting be that expensive. I don’t think that size oval is more than 4 carats, adjust depending on your own hand size.

You’ll have to go to lab diamond. I would contact Distinctive Gem, for lab ovals, or look at Parks Fine Group on Instagram for antique cut Movals. You can also find a good Oval on one of the lab vendor sites (see Lab Diamond forum). Many experts here can help you select and evaluate.

I’m a big believer in get what you want, for an engagement ring. Regarding the fragility of pearls, well, good thing is you can get another Pearl to replace periodically if you need to. Go to the Pearls Forum and ask about vendors and also consider non-Akoya if you think you might need to keep replacing. Good luck!

This thread needs to be moved to the RockyTalky forum.

I'll request that it be moved. This forum is for showing off our beauties. RockyTalky is for questions about diamonds/jewelry.
Also, if you plan on going with a lab stone you can get help with that on the lab forum.
