I''m seriously considering 2 stones. One from a B&M and one from WF.

The problem is, the one from the B&M I can actually see. It''s a beautiful, sparkly stone and I know what I''m getting. It''s already mounted, so I can only get it appraised. I can''t get an Ideal scope or ASET, but are these needed?

The stone from WF is a ACA, and my contact says it''s comparable to a HOF (which I recently saw, and those REALLY SPARKLE!). So my main problem is, which one is better... the one that i can see, or the one that i can''t but mite be better in quality? This is just a big purchase, and I want to get as much as I can for it.

Here are the specs for the B&M:

Carat: 1.36
Cut: VG
Color: E
Clarity: SI1 (eye clean)
Polish: VG
Sym: G
Depth: 59.2
Table: 58
Pav. Angle: 40.8
Crown Angle: 33.5
HCA Score: 0.8
Price: 11,700 (with plat band)

This is the WF diamond... Scored 1.8 HCA:

Any advice is greatly appreiciated! Thanks in advance!

ACA all the way.

It is comparable to the HoF so if you love that sparkle, then that is the way to go.

Welcome to PS!

ACA''s are cut and crafted to hugely exacting standards and I am sure you would be delighted to own one, so as ACA''s are a known quantity and are predictably top performers, it gets my vote!

While the stone at the B&M could be a pretty stone, it''s not cut to the level the ACA''s are. I think with an ACA, you will get a better mix of fire and brillance. I own a pair of studs with ACA''s, so I can assure you, not seeing it first is not a problem. You won''t be dissapointed.

And the size difference is negligable.

Better stone, less money = no brainer.

I have an ACA stone as the center stone to my engagement ring. I absolutely love it. I also like the fact of knowing what a good stone it is. You can have Whiteflash send the stone to an approved appraiser in your area, and look at the stone before you actually purchase it. (you just pay shipping) You could also purchase it and have it sent to you and if you don''t like it, you can send it back to Whiteflash and be reimbursed. (I believe you have 10 days)

No brainer, get the ACA!!! I''ve taken my wedding band to B&M''s and they kick their stone''s butts LOL!! Hands down ACA! Just in case you think the B&M store diamond is more sparkly you have a return policy with the WF stone.

Thanks for eveyones response! I think I''ll reserve the stone and have it sent to an apraiser. I''m excited about this stone and i think my fiance will love it!
