I am looking into buy a wedding band and love eternity full round circle diamond rings....

some people have said its a bad idea to buy this type of a band bc the diamonds will fall out....or things get scratched etc...

Can you please help me by telling me what the positive and negatives are for this type of band?

likes dislikes?

I love my full eternity from WF. I hate when rings spin and the underside ends up showing while the diamonds are on the bottom of your finger. That drives me nuts. So I''m very glad I got the full eternity. But I''m not worried about my finger size changing much since I''m (GULP) almost 40... eeekk.

If you are young, it will be hard to be sure your ring size will stay the same forever. I had the same size for 25 years and then put on a few pounds and my rings had to be sized. The downside is that with my ring that is full eternity, I have to be careful when I grasp things because I don''t want to pound the underside of my ring and flatten prongs or milgrain.

I am more worried about resizing with my e-band. I love the look but they aren''t as practical.

Is resizing an eternity ring tough?
Do prongs on the ring flatten or damage easily?

Cuz i love the e-ring wedding bands...

That''s why I was thinking about having a little sizer space in my band. I know my fingers will not remain the same size forever and I know I''ll want to keep my bands.

so an eband is not worth it then?

i love it ...

or you could always just another one hehe

I would get a sizing bar for sure! A ring I was looking at had a 4 mm bar that could be sized 2 sizes up, 2 down. I did not thinking about sizing issue when we ordered mine. Oh well. Hindsight and all.

Thanks she is getting so big! I figured I should update my AV since the old one was taken when she was 6 weeks and she is days away from being 5 months.

Tacori, if I get a sizing bar will the ring be loose on my finger now?
What is a sizing bar? sorry this all new to me

well, i''m going to go the with the opposite view. I love full eternity bands and will be ordering one soon for my wedding band. they can be resized a tiny bit if necessary. Mara had her full eternity band wedding set shaved out on the inside a bit to size them up. Also, some designers will use a laser to move the ring up or down a 1/2 size or so. worst senario, the ring becomes way to big or small and you have to buy a new one. If you are ok with that option than I say get what you love.

the sizing bars are an option but you''re still not going to be able to size it a huge amount. I personally don''t find sizing beads comfy so i wouldn''t want them but there are gals who say you get used to them and they don''t bother them after time.

i bought my eternity band in a 6 so i can wear it on either hand. i like wearing it loose, but if my ring size goes up, i can still wear it on my left hand.

i check my band periodically to see if anything is awry with the prongs or stones. i wear it pretty much every day and am pretty active. i do, however, take it off when i wash the dishes.

i love the look of a full-circle of diamonds. no matter how many times i tell myself that it would have been more practical to buy a 5-stone for the same price (larger stones), i can''t help but prefer the full eternity band.

What size diamonds are you lookiing at, it can make a difference. Eternity bands should be thought of as unable to be sized, as that is the case 99% of the time. I have 2 identical 1.5mm half carat bands. So the diamonds are just over a point each. These thin bands fit my ring finger, and my right hand larger finger. There is a little leeway I think because the bands themselves are very thin. If you wanted larger diamonds, I''d recommend waiting, or getting it half a size bigger to start with. It''s a bit of a gamble really. I like the look of the eternity bands. I haven''t had any trouble with mine. I wear them constantly in place of my solitaire, with a plain band in between. I found they were easy to get used to. They do get dirty quickly though!

Thank you ladies

I am looking into getting one:) hehe
probably about 2mm wide...and prbably be carat total or so

NOW
do I have to worry about the clairty and all that jazz all over again like we did for the engagement ring?
or bc the diamonds are small SI quality is fine?

A sizing bar is just a part of the ring with no stones (just metal) worn on the back of your finger. Sometimes I see them engraved to blend in more. Like I said before I was surprised that a 4 mm space (which I think is small) can be sized 2 up/2 down. If you are okay with replacing the ring one day (if and when your finger changes) then go with what you love. I know Allison D mentioned her knuckles getting larger with age so it is not just pregnancy that concerns me. If you are sentimental and what your wedding rings to be untouched go with a sizing bar. I have no experience with sizing balls.

I love her little tongue!!! I hope she''s not too much of a handful when she grows up.

I have an eternity band with diamonds going all around from Verragio''s eterna collection. I also had the same questions about the sizing and jeweler explained few options if it needed sizing. Because the diamonds go all the way around, sizing is difficult yet not impossible. They can always ad or remove a section of the ring. Here is a picture of my ring so you can get an idea: V4012

Sizing bar was another option but it left a blank area and it didn''t do justice to the design which I wasn''t very happy about at all. Sizing balls were the final option but it all depends if you are comfortable with them, some people think they work better on e-rings because prevent spinning but on eternity bands they are not so comfortable. I guess it''s a personal preference. Jeweler told me to avoid buying a larger ring just because you think that you''ll gain weight later on. When the ring is too big on the finger then it becomes really uncomfortable.

So I got the exact finger size and so far I didn''t have to size it but if I do in the future then I know a have few options and I still adore the look of eternity bands...

LG, you and me both. She def. has a strong personality!

I need more pics as she grows because she is just a little cutie pie!! Babies like her make me want one in 10 years

I update the preggo thread every so often. She is very pretty. People stop me to comment which makes me proud (not that I did anything). She is a sweet girl. I hope you get one just like her one day

Though if only she would sleep through the night life would be even better. Are you sure you want to wait 10 years?

Sorry for the threadjack Nerf.

Yes sorry for the thread jack!!

Maybe not 10 years... but a while. I want to make sure I have enough money and we are in a good situation for the little one. Plus I can''t wait just to be married for a while.

I want to make sure my career is in place too. That will take a while. And I want all my student loans paid off (that might just take 10 years

LG, you will NEVER have enough money

DH and I dated for awhile before we got married so we were ready to start right away. But it is a good idea to get "settled" first b/c life changes FAST with a baby.

Oh no don''t say that lol! By the time we''ll be getting married we will have dated for 7 years. As of now we''re happy with the dog, hopefully we don''t get baby fever too soon.

I always say I''ll just know when I''m ready. When I decided to get a puppy I had puppy fever BAD! I bought all of these puppy things and looked at pictures of Chihuahuas every day... I think if I start going crazy and buying baby clothes and coveting other people''s babies that will be the time

I have to say though having my little sister move in with me really put me off to having a baby. I think if my child ever disrespected me and my house the way she does I would go insane. I know it''s probably not the same thing at all but I can''t help thinking that way. She''s underage and she actually threw a party at my house (when I was gone) and she says "her friends" drank my wine and vodka
20.gif
. She doesn''t seem to care that I could get arrested for these things. I''m actually going to have to make her leave when her semester is up. I just can''t deal with her anymore and she never used to be like this!

I don''t think I could handle my child doing those things... At times I want to smack some sense into her.

I saw this when shopping for FI''s eternity band... She thought it was really comfortable....

Has a spring inside the eternity bad, so it adjusts a full size to fit as you grow / shrink...

Honey, trust me. No one would ever have another baby if they came as teenagers.

We fall in love when they are tiny and cute and they ever so slowly grow into teenagers, and we manage to still love them anyway! No children are ever like your own will be!

That is very cool. I have never seen that before.

DS is right. Luckily they come to us as babies so we have awhile before they turn into moody teenagers.

Ugh but what if mine is worse!!
