Hello All,
I''m new (but def lurked around and saw how awesome you all are) and wanted to get your opinion on a diamond shape for my ering. The knowledge on this forum is unsurpassed, so here''s my question.

I want a square / rectangular shaped diamond that has the fire and brilliance of a round. I fell in love with the Jubilee, but have had difficulty in finding it. I just contacted GOG, but do you know of any other vendors or shapes that fit what I am looking for? I have already decided against princess, radiant and asscher. My fiance and I want something between 2cts and 2.75cts if that makes any difference at all (ie: I know modified rounds look bigger at the same weight as the princess)

Anyways, I know that there are concerns surrounding the "branding" but I really just want what I want. Lol. Perhaps the old "ignorance is bliss". I still have a lot of learning to do, so pointing me in any direction is better that floundering around like I''ve been doing.

Have you seen the square Hearts and Arrows stones at GOG? Those are going to be the closest to the brilliance of a round IMO. Also, the cushions that are Ex/Ex that Mark Turowski always comes up with here are pretty bright...I know, I own one!

I think that the Lucida would be perfect, however the price is not. It has excellent sparkle, and is square with cut corners I believe....

Hi Carly! Check with GOG about the "cushette" diamond or like Neatfreak said, the square H&A. GOG has a video comparing a regular cushion cut to the Cushette on their website. Also you might want to look at a Flanders cut...

I''d defintiely recommend GOG for square shaped stones. You may have to wait a bit for them to find some in your size range. But any of their square stones would be just gorgeous! I also prefer the square H&A, cushette, princess of hearts, jubilee, etc. over a princess.

Thanks! I definitely haven''t even looked into the cushette! I really do appreciate all of the input. One question-- Neatfreak what is a cushion that is Ex/Ex? I''ve realized that the more I learn about diamonds, the less I actually know. Also, has anyone purchased these kinds of diamonds (cushette, jubilee, square H & A, POH, etc) from any brick and mortar stores? Or know of any near NYC that carry them? I have only seen these online, so curiosity is killing me! Have a great Friday all!

Excellent symmetry, Excellent polish. Good Old Gold is ...on Long Island? Their store is supposed to be well worth the trip!

Julie is right- GOG is just down the road in long island.

If you want to see the cushions I am talking about Mark at Engagement Rings Direct is in the diamond district. He''s great!
