HELP - Reset Dillema and Which Wedding Band to buy?

Hello Fellow PS''ers! I''m in dire need of advice. I''m getting married in January 2010 and plan to reset my ring sometime next year. Here''s where the dilemma comes in...should I buy a wedding band that matches my current setting? Or should I buy a band that will match the setting I''ll (hopefully) have by next year? Any thoughts/ideas would be so much appreciated. Thanks!

I guess it depends on what you''ve got and what you''re getting! Like, if I had a plain ering band and was going to get a pave on down the line, I''d get the pave band now, as it would look good with both. What do you have and what are you hoping for?

I restled with this as well.. My thoughts are if you are ok, with having mulitple bands to wear then ultimately placing the ring that you buy now on your right hand once you get your reset then get another band for to match your reset later, then I say get what will match now. But I bought a ring that will go with my ring now, and also that will go with my reset when it comes time to it. The other thing you may want to factor in, is will your taste change by the time you are ready to reset? so that the band you might buy for the future reset won''t go with either ring now or later? unless you absolutely 100% know that the ring you have in mind to do the reset will be the ring, then get a band for the future. Sorry maybe confuse you even more? believe me I''ve gone through three will be four reset and three different bands myself, so I know your delimma

Eek! Well I have a princess set in a princess channel set setting...so my obvious choice for a wedding band now would be a princess cut channel set band.

The only thing is I think I want to reset my diamond into a halo setting - which would mean I''d maybe want a micropave band to match it. But a micropave won''t match my current princess ER and I''m not sure how long it will be before I have it re-set.

I was thinking of shopping for the new setting now, figuring out which wedding band goes with it and wearing that wedding band until I have my current diamond re-set.

All so confusing!

how bout going with something plain and less costly that will match both until you finish your reset, then that way you can upgrade to another band to match your reset? that way you will have a plain band for those rugged outdoors days...yah know? so youll still be able to use them later too... plain bands are sooo versatile imo
