Hi!

I have been mainly searching for vs2 G/H stones, but I came across a VS1/G that seems like a great deal and I am thinking of pulling the trigger on it. What are your thoughts?

GIA laser inscribed
2.17
G
VS1
X-VG-VG No Flourescence
8.37 x 8.41 X 5.11
59% table

31K

Thanks so much!

Can yous end a link the the GIA cert?

What is the Crown Angle, Pavalin Angle, Depth, Girdle Width?

Can the vendor provide you with idealscope images, that is essential in evaluating the cut performance of the diamond.

Thank you!

GIA Cert# 6147624130

I don't currently have the ideal scope images. I asked the vendor for it.

I'm not sure if I can get the ideal scope image, but based on the GIA report how good of a deal is it at 31K?

that is not great angles for the cut, generally you want to stick to 41 or below for the pavalion angle, and most people on this sight prefer tables between 54-58.

Not sure how good of a deal that is, but if I was spending 31K I would a lights out cut. Also with many great vendors who do provide you idealscope images, and spending that much money, I'd stick to a vendor who could give you more services.

For the same price I would go with something like this:

:appl: I concur!

Thank you!

I guess I shouldn't put so much value in the color/clarity and put more emphasis on the cut and dimensions.

I was just excited about the G/VS1 combo at what seemed like a great price.

Thanks again for educating me.

A well cut diamond will appear whiter and brighter than a poorly cut one, they can also hide tiny inclusions better. So IMO it's better to purchase a lower color/clarity well cut diamond than a higher color/clarity poorly cut one. You'll save money and have a more beautiful diamond! :))
