Thanks for everyone’s help with my stud request recently. I will post the results when I have them!
In the meantime – I’ve been talking to Luann at IDJ about a 9 stone, 12 point ring size 6. (I’m having my first baby this year so I decided it’s time to get things I’ve always wanted for myself before I have ‘other’ things to have to consider. Last days of thinking of myself first!
).
So I’m really struggling deciding on the setting. In fact I’m driving myself crazy!
I went into a local B&M store to try on styles to check. I was originally going to get a 7 stone with .15points but found the slightly smaller and more stones worked better for me. In store they only had a prong setting (each stone having its own prongs) or a shared prong setting. Both with a little airline under each stone (which IDJ don’t do but they said they could). I quite like this setting and preferred the prong setting with individual prongs. However I’ve not been able to try on a Uprong setting and they just look so gorgeous on here. They sit low which looks great. But I’m worried about either losing or chipping a stone.
I asked Luann and she said that the U prong is pretty and shows more stone. Prong with an airline sits quite high. As I didn’t measure the height in the B&M I don’t know if her idea of ‘high’ is higher than what I tried so it’s not really helping me that much unfortunately.
I honestly don’t know what to do! Any advice about prongs vs uprong would be amazing. How it looks and the durability... I plan to wear the ring on its own or with other bands, so it wouldn’t be with my solitaire.
Thanks lovelies.
