I am shopping for an engagement ring, and found this one from bluenile. With my limited knowledge on diamond, I think it's a good stone. Please take a look and let me know if you think this is a nice stone

The issue with BlueNile is that they don't provide any of the necessary light performance data that you need to make a well-informed decision. As a result, many folks here (myself included) would steer you away from them for a one-time purchase.

At that price point, I was able to find two options very quickly at Whiteflash.

Both are larger than the stone you had picked, and are equally eye-clean.

Definitely run it through the HCA and see how it scores to see if it should be considered or not. I also recommend asking BN for a picture, idealscope and aset image of the diamond and for them to verify it's eye clean. Granted, being VVS2, I am assured it will be, but it's definitely worth double-checking.

I was always weary of looking at diamonds without an actual image of it, because you never really know until you see it and analyze it for yourself.

Wowwww, that's insane. I can't believe they wouldn't do that for a customer. I mean I know they have provided a lot of people here with great diamonds, but definitely a flaw in customer service to those who, like myself, would want to see what a diamond looks like and analyze it before making such a big purchase.

BN is a VERY high volume retailer.

The subset of people who want light performance data is probably small compared to their target audience.

At this point, they've calculated that they don't need to provide any additional services to keep their model afloat. They estimate FY2015 net sales will be around $500 million.

They are certainly missing out on some business, though!
