Desperately in need of help from you amazing Pricescopers!
My mum lost the diamond from her engagement ring (15+ years ago) & has finally given me the go-ahead to find a replacement ring.
I am looking at spending around $13,000 / $14,000 AUD (for diamond) she is happy with anything 1.25ct or bigger, and would just like to go for something lovely and eye-clean. She is not fussed at all about the specs of the diamond, just wants it to sparkle!
I have a VERY basic understanding of what I should be looking at (after going through this exercise myself with the help of Pricescope a few years ago), but find the advice and guidance here priceless.
This is the setting she would like:

Here are a few stones am looking at thus far, not fussed on where it comes from bearing in mind it needs to be able to be shipped to Australia:

Thanks in advance!!

You have provided examples of G, believe you would get some better feedback options if there was more info on this. Is she colour sensitive?

I'm far from an expert, that's why this one has been picked by one :)

Would need to check if eye-clean though

Could go larger with more colour :)

Being ACA from what I've read it's likely to look whiter.
G is pretty safe for almost everyone. we often suggest G when posters aren't sure about color sensitivity

not finding a lot on JA that i'm in love with:
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...d-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-6528539 would need to make sure it's eye clean and it's also strong fluoro so would need to make sure she is ok with that.

if she's ok with an I color:

But if you take a look at Blue Nile, one of these settings would be similar (all three are similar tcw.
Riviera Mid cathedral $1275
Royal Crown $1450
Riviera Cathedral $1520

some of these have a higher crown of 36 (which is outside recommended parameters) but are paired with a complimentary 40.6 pavillion. It's a look i personally enjoy.

I'm going to add that some of these are available on other sites for cheaper and BN WILL match those prices.
1.35ct H SI1 $12708.30 AU
1.35ct F SI1 $13726.90 AU would have to be ok with strong fluoro
1.32ct G SI1 $12791.90 AU another one with strong fluoro
1.31ct H VS2 $12500.40 again, strong fluoro
1.30 H VS2 $13269.30 The angles on this are slightly outside of what is recommended, with the 33 crown. but the tiny 53% table IMO is complimentary. most would probably tell you to ask for an Idealscope on this one. though i don't think BN is providing them.
1.30ct G VS2 $13652.10 medium fluoro. should be eye clean.
1.26ct G VS1 $13074.60 strong fluoro again
1.26ct H VVS2 $13776.40
1.25 H VS2 $12659.90

Thanks so much everyone for the feedback - only reason I went with G as it was what I was led to a few years ago with mine, as it's kind of an 'entry level' higher colour.

I think G is a “safe” colour ... you’re unlikely to notice any tint unless it’s side by side with a whiter stone.

I think that, if someone is colour sensitive, they may be able to see a slight tint in H from the side ... it may not be enough to be bothersome, though, depending on preferences as usual ... some people prefer the warmer tones H and lower. With the price break, more options, and ideal light performance (with less than ideal, less light is reflected back and the body colour is more noticeable), it might be a good option.

It’s all up to you! :twirl:

Being in Australia, do you need to go with JA or BN?
