Dear all,

I have been the active reader on this forum for the past weeks. Could you please give me your opinions on the cut/quality of following diamond:

Shape: Round
Cut: Brilliant
Weight: 1.55 carats
Measurement: 7.37 - 7.39 * 4.60 mm

Total Depth Percentage: 62.3%
Table Diamond Percentage: 57%
Crown Angle: 35.3
Pavillion Depth Percentage: 43.1%
Gridle: Medium to silightly thick
Cutlet: None

Presence Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Precision of Cut: Excellent

Clarity Grade: VS2
Color Grade: I
Fluorescense: None

Thank you very much. I appreciate all you time.
Please let me know if you need more information.

Moonoi,

With the measurements you have provided this looks to be a very good performer.

It would be helpful to have the pavilion angle measurement as well. This can be found if the dealer has a Sarin report. If the pavilion angle average is 40.6 - 40.7 (as it would seem to be, based on the other measurements you have provided) you''re looking at a nice diamond.

Another way you can find the PA: If the grading is on an AGS diamond quality report the angles will be given there.

Crown angles are a little steep for my liking.....perhaps with 40.6 pavillion angles but I would want to see brilliance data on that.

Good luck in your search.

Thank you very much for the response.

With my limited knowledge, what''s bother me a little is the gridle and the diameter of the diamond. Should I worry about it?

The diameter has spread expected for a 1.50 ct diamond. If the girdle was medium, or thin-medium, you might see a fractionally larger diameter - but nothing significant, if that was your worry.
