I don't think those are french cuts, I think they are carre cuts. If they were french cuts, I would say BUY BUY BUY. I think carre cuts are easier to find, but it may still be worth considering. However, you will have to pay for the cost of having the stones removed. Keep in mind some of them may be damaged (chipped corners, minor abrasions). Then you will have to pay for a new setting. It all may end up to not being worth it. You could probably find a comparable ring with carre cuts on ebay. That would be my line of thinking.

I hope others chime in!

Thanks GemFever. I have not seen too many closeups of french cuts so you have been helpful. I had planned on doing a princess eternity at some point so setting cost is already factored into my plans. Just thought if these are a decent deal then I would go with them.

I'm going to second Gemfever and say Carre cuts. No idea if it is worth it or not. I personally like Carre cuts over frenchies. I think the recycle project would be expensive though. It would probably be cheaper to just get a vendor to get you a parcel of carre cuts and do the eternity that way.

Definitely not french cuts. And it is possible the stones on the sides are a different size than the ones in the center. I think this one is risky unless you a) want carre cuts, and b) don't mind having to resell the ring if the stones are not the right size to make your band.

And I agree with Sarah, just have the vendor source the right size carre cuts (or french cuts if that is what you really want).

Thanks all! I may pass on this one then. Especially not knowing if it is calibrated.

I third. Also, I have bought a rehab only to find out they were not in the best condition. You will find them. The waiting for the right opportunity part is the challenge.

Did the email come from the seller? I received a second chance offer when I bid on something from that seller and didn't win, but when I looked at the email path, it came from someone else. Be careful. I don't think that seller offers second chance offers. Make sure you look in your ebay messages to see if there is indeed an offer.

Oh FK that is good to know. This one did actually come from the seller and is in my messages. Sarahbear thank you for the pics!
