Hi all,

Could I get your opinions on some blue sapphires? I have been looking for a 2 carat cushion sapphire to be the centerstone of my gfriends e-ring. She found "the one" at BBB, but it was unfortunately out of my price range and after doing some research, overpriced as well. But wouldnt you know it? I could not find that ring ANYWHERE! It wasn''t on BBB''s website and could not find it on the net. I did find many similar ones, but not an exact match. I tried to get a pic of it from BBB, but the best I got was a photocopy, but that didnt do it justice. I even contacted places like Adwar, but they are only wholesle. So I realized that I would have to recreate this ring as best as I could and I will most likely approach one of the reputable merchants that I have seen on Pricescope, to take on the task.

If you''re curious, it was:

2.03 Carat Cushion-cut Blue Sapphire, Treated

18k WG Split Shank Setting, with .5 carat of round pave diamonds, along the shanks and surrounding the stone.

Anyway, here are the links of a few sapphires I have had my eye on. I will also include pic of the photocopy I have, so you have something to reference.

Thanks and much appreciated!

I don''t know much about sapphires, but that first one looks pretty ugly IMO. It doesn''t look like it would have any sparkle at all.

The first of the ones from Simply Sapphires looks the best visually for me, but I really don''t know anything.

Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in...

The pic on my profile is "the ring".

Oh, and I personally like the last stone you posted, but I tend to like lighter blue sapphires, they seem to sparkle more!

third one all the way!!

the color is excellent from the pic
but it''s not a traditional cushion shape more rectangular

Hi Pink,

Yes, I have been to NSC, and they do have nice looking sapphires, but in the "just over" 2 carat range, there weren''t any that really popped out at me. They were one of the sites that did have a similar setting to the one I was looking for.

Thanks for the info!

Chris

The colour on the third one is nice, but too much zoning for my taste..although maybe in person, it won''t be that noticeable. Number 4 for sparkle is a winner, but is a bit light.
