Beautiful! What about a double halo, one with fancy yellow diamonds and one with white diamonds? That would be awesome!

I see @Phoenix just posted a picture of hers in another thread! I hope she can repost that pic here, hers is perfect !

What a beautiful diamond!! Fancy vivid yellow no less!

Here's mine. Alex Park did this. Really reasonably priced and I'd even go as far as saying it's more beautiful and more sparkly than my other halo settings.

WOW - that stone is a real whopper! She will be THRILLED!

I may be in the minority here, but since the color is so saturated I think it could pull off a bigger (think Princess Diana/Kate Middleton) sized halo.

In my experience those settings are real attention grabbers, and (IMHO) work well when the center stone has enough color that it doesn’t come off as a cluster ring.

I would do one that included some pears in the halo to play off the shape of that epic center stone.
I’ll attach 2 examples, for each one I’ve included 2 images of the original followed by a marked up (very crudely - I’m in the car.) In both cases I’d do platinum with 18k yellow prongs on the center. Not sure who made either of these, just designs I saved images of.

Congrats on picking a stunner of a stone! There are so many possibilities for this stone to show her off.

What's your GF's style like? Does she have "style icons" that she takes inspiration from? Classic and sleek? Glitzy? Feminine? Romantic and soft? Playful and fun? Modern and Edgy?

ETA: I would choose the classic HW tapered baguettes. The pave split shank without halo is really speaking to me too, and normally split shanks aren't my thing!

If she has more of a feminine and romantic vibe:
Halo with a tiny border of gold from the 18kt basket!

Solitaire with skinny pave band

Split shank pavé solitaire or with a halo

If she has a classic and sleek style:
Harry Winston style tapered baguette all the way! (But make it a pear)

Or other side stone shapes (pear or trillion)

Playful and fun, unique, and a not afraid to stand out:
The Harry Winston pear cluster had always looked beautiful to me

If she's modern and edgy, a trend-setter, and bold:

I just purchased a beautiful fancy vivid yellow diamond 3.9ct for my future fiancée and need some ideas on a halo setting for this stone.

LOL I got carried away searching for settings I forgot you asked specifically for a halo. Oops!:lol::lol: ...but maybe you'll see something else you like as inspiration too ;)2

What is her finger size? That's a good sized stone so finger size may help determine how it is set. Also, is it something she will wear every day? If so, how much does she use her hands? All of these may impact what you choose?

If you want something that’s a little different… Not sure how it would look with your diamond since it’s a fancy vivid yellow, not an alphabet yellow.
