hi i'm new to pricescope here!
been looking over the threads and getting really resourceful advices!

i've recently come across a E SI1 diamond with inclusions such as pinpoints and twinning wisps.
studying thru the forum here, i've learned that pinpoints are tiny and that twinning wisps appear "white"...
does that mean this E SI1 diamond can be "eye-clean"?

would someone please take a look at its GIA report and could inform me if it's a good buy?
your help is much appreciated~ thanks so much! :D

GIA report #: 1139602739
carat wt: 1.01

there's this other F SI2 diamond i'm currently considering as well.
it has multiple twinning wisps, but they're located under the minor facets, leaving the table clean.
i'm under the impression that this is a better inclusion location?

the problem with it is that it's graded SI2 and this makes me worried that this stone might not be "eye-clean"...
also, the table percentage is 59%, it's slightly above the ideal-cut range... how is that going to affect the brilliance/light reflection of the diamond?
i'm so confused! :(

GIA report #: 2136455090
carat wt: 1.01

any help/suggestion is greatly appreciated!

Based on the numbers both could work, maybe just slightly different look, depending on in which directions the numbers are rounded by GIA.

No way to tell if the inclusions are eye-clean or not from just the map, inclusion type and grade. Need to see it for yourself or ask the jeweler who has the stone, then it will be a case of how much you trust him and what is his definition of eye-clean.

hi, thanks for the input!
by "different look", do you mean the light reflection or "fire" would be somewhat different between the two stones?

my jeweler could provide me with a 10x loupe, but i can't handle it very well...
plus, the two stones are from two different jewelers and unfortunately i can't compare them side-by-side.

So you can see them yourself, so you are a better judge of if they are eye-clean. Just go to different lighting conditions, not just the store lightings, to see if you can see any inclusions that might bother you. Eye clean has nothing to do with using a loupe, just if you or your significant other can notice the inclusions or not under normal viewing/lighting condition.

By difference, I mean patterning and optics, personal preference, some would prefer one to the other, others might not notice the difference, depending on how good one is at spotting minute differences. Maybe get a local independent appraiser involved and ask the 2 jewelers to send it to the independent appraiser on the same day so that you can see them side by side and do a blind test to see which you prefer, at some additional expense.

Based on the information provided, I would choose the first one. I would much prefer E/SI1 to F/SI2, the inclusions appear minimal in the first one, and the proportions are in the "ideal" range. Stone 2 is shallow with a larger table. Stone 1 looks very promising to me but I'm no expert.

I think I would pick E/SI1 option between the two, If the stone is eye clean or not this can only be accessed by the Diamond expert,
if possible let one of the Diamond expert (the one you trust) examine the stone for you, this will clear many doubts.

thank you all for replying! it has helped clear things up quite a bit!

a few more questions (i apologize for having so many :P)... since the plot diagram on the GIA report is 2D, it only gives a "map" to where the inclusions are located relative to the "table" or top-view, am i understanding it correctly?

i understand from previous threads here that inclusions under minor facets are more preferable than those under the table, since they're more easily covered/disguised under a prong.
but what is the general rule of thumb to choose a preferable 3D inclusion location? should i avoid inclusions in the crown or in the pavillion? would that difference be significant in light reflections or "fire"?

i think what i'm asking is what characteristics (position in a stone) should set my alarm off if i manage to use a loupe correcly and see these inclusions?

thanks so much!! :)
