So I am getting married on July 28th and I need some HELP on selecting her wedding band.

Here engagement rings is a 1.5 ct round with this setting from Union Diamond: http://www.uniondiamond.com/control/showJewelryDetails?productId=JEN10083P&jewShapeVal=SHAPE_01&rbStep=

It is beautiful and 2.3 mm wide, slightly narrower than the original Tiffany's

Anyways, we were in Tiffany's trying on rings and she loved this one: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP00108&mcat=148204&cid=287466&search_params=s+5-p+6-c+287466-r+101323340-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

Of course, it is 3.5 mm and looked too wide to match the engagement ring. She has a size 4 finger so the stone's look huge, two 3.5 mm rings would have looked too big.

Online, I found two choice that look similar to the Tiffany 7 stone shared prong...

Union Diamond: http://www.uniondiamond.com/control/showJewelryDetails?productId=JWR9011P&jewShapeVal=&rbStep=

$1,649 / .75 ct / VS - SI / near colorless / 2 - 2.05 band width / platinum

and...

Adiamor: http://www.adiamor.com/Wedding-Rings/Diamond-Accented/Seven-Stone-Diamond-Band/Platinum/1069

$2,019 / .84 / VS1 - VS2 / G - H / 2.5 band width / platinum

Now the difference in price doesn't really matter to me. I was leaning towards the Adiamor because of the 1. extra ct weight and the 2. better color and clarity. However, at 2.5 mm it is slightly larger than the 2.05 Union Diamond band. The 3.5 mm Tiffany's didn't look "too" much bigger, so I'm not sure how much .4 would matter.

So what would your thoughts and suggestions be???

You're going to get lots of responses from all the eternity lovers around here, so I'll just give you my 2 cents and get out of the way. I really like the rings that you have picked out and I think that they will compliment her ering nicely, however I think that the particular setting that the stones are set in are going to be a cleaning nightmare. Lots of gook, hand lotion etc, is going to get caught up inside there and because of the tiny openings its going to be very difficult to get in there and clean it. Dirty diamonds don't sparkle. :nono:

I know there have been lots of PSers very happy with their eternity rings from ID jewelry and they have very competitive pricing and I love this setting...and it can be made into a 5 or 7 stone, and whatever ct weight you want.

Yes, I like that style very much, especially in a 7 stone, but all the similar one's I saw in 7 stone were at least 3 mm wide.

She really liked the Tiffany one, and I usually end of cleaning it for her, so it will be near impossible to change her mind at this point.

If you are going to pick from the 2 you posted, I think either will work but I like the thinner one better. I like Christina's suggestion best though...

Re: HELP! Need guidance and wisdom on wedding band selection

Should I just automatically go with the thinner one, even though it's only .3-.4 mm smaller?

Would diamond quality, the Vs1 - Vs2 compared to the Vs1 - Si1 matter, or would the color at that size?

Re: HELP! Need guidance and wisdom on wedding band selection

The other issue is that the Union Diamond ring is flat on the outside while the Admiamor is rounded on the outside.

Which one would go better with the knife edge er?
