So, I have decided I needed a pinky ring. I am really attracted to the chunky, structural designs I have been seeing lately. I have narrowed it down to this setting which will be made in WG (unfortunately, gold makes my skin look muddy). Should I get it in pear or marquise cut?
Finger size fits a 3-3.5 this cold weather. I will get a 4.25 to be on the safe side for when it gets warm and humid again.
For a pear, budget will allow me to get a natural diamond around 8-8.2mm
For a marquise, I am able to get one that is close to 9.5mm.
Pear pros: I love pears! I currently have a bezel diamond pendant necklace I wear everyday!
Pear cons: Smaller than marquise, too matchy-matchy with my necklace?
Marquise pros: Bigger and covers more real estate! I don’t have that cut in my collection.
Marquise cons: I have never seen one IRL (except for a really grimy one in a clunky 1970s setting which really doesn’t help my case). Sometimes looks too much like an eye for my liking.

Also, are structural pinky rings too trendy? Will I get tired of it at one point?
