The upper-left prong for my 1727 carat D IF diamond ring is loose and I can't afford to have the jeweler fix it.
I know I know I should have followed standard PS guidelines and gone with 64 prongs for diamonds over 1500 carats.

But, what should I do now? ;(

It fell out once before, but at least I knew it ... since when it fell it broke my toe.

Wear only sandals from now on. At least you'll know right away if that baby* falls out of its setting again.

* as in Baby Huey, that is...

Some chewing gum and scotch tape should hold it until you can get some crazy glue.

Rubber bands and tape, I've performed mechanical miracles with that stuff. I am sure it will suffice mate!

Pinch it back together using a rubber band wrapped around needle nose pliers. That ought to fix it.

Well, on second thought, you might actually need Channelocks. And some plastic tubing. lol

It should be right with the three prongs. There are plenty of settings around now with a funky three prong look. I think the problem is in your mind, you're way overthinking this.

I know this isn't in Rocky Talky and you aren't asking buuuut, can you return this for something less dangerous (i.e. won't break your toes) and less included? I know you said it is a D IF but is that GIA or EGL or WTF? Also what is its HCA? 8-)
If it is past your point of no return policy well no worries. It is a unique and special conversation piece and perhaps would make a good bezeled pendant? 8) :cheeky:

PS I would get Victor or Leon or Steven right on this because delicate claw prongs would make all the difference dontcha think? 8)

Here's mine, what do you think? It's OMGWTH certed D IF too...lot in common no? But mine has those delicious claw prongs. I mean sure those prongs are plated (with what IDK) but still ooh la la. :loopy:
Look at those endless facets. Sigh. I could gaze at them all day. :naughty:

Or perhaps you will prefer my original ER diamond. I thought it was too small so upgraded. Thank goodness my dh is so understanding and accommodating. 8)

I think you could just wedge a cotton ball between that prong and the lovely stone and it will work fine. People will just think you have a bit of sweater lint stuck in your ring, nbd. :wavey:
