Currently LOST and looking for expertise from this community to help find a RADIANT CUT diamond! So far, I haven't seen many threads on this cut (any reasons why?), so I am relying on YOU to help educate me - much appreciated!! :geek:

Specs that I am looking for:
- Carat weight: 2.5 - 3.0 ct, ideally length and width is greater than 7mm each
- Color grade: H or higher
- Clarity: VS2 or higher
- Polish: Excellent

As I am unsure which ratios or depth/table percentages are considered "ideal", I would LOVE to hear your feedback on finding a perfect stone.

Thank you all in advance!

Usually about 2 cts is sufficient to hit 7x7. I assume you are looking for a square radiant. What's your budget?

Hello!! I have a budget around $30K and would like to go as big as possible for sufficient finger coverage (size 6) without losing too much sparkle and clarity.. Is this doable? :errrr:

Hi Radiantgirl,

There are various radiant threads in the archives with great info, but there are various proportion combinations that can work well together with radiants so no hard and fast rules. There aren't any ' ideal' depth/table/crown height percentages to go by as all this gives is a wire frame outline and doesn't give us any meaningful information about how beautiful the diamond is, it's appearance and performance.

You should be in the ball park with around 2 cts to hit 7x7 as Jules mentions. H or higher colour should be a good cut off in this size range as radiants can hold more warmth than some other shapes. Clarity, you could consider SI if verified eye clean but that's a personal preference. Polish and symmetry, aim for very good and above as any differences will be indistinguishable to the naked untrained eye.

Many radiants have a ' crushed ice' appearance with the faceting, are you ok with this type or would you prefer a radiant with a more structured facet look? The 2 radiants Jules posted are very promising, definitely somewhere to start!
