Hi guys!

FI and I have been looking at wedding bands for a while and I *think* I have decided I want a channel band. First I thought I wanted a prong band, but wasn''t crazy about it once it was in my hand. Then I fell in love with a channel band with baguette diamonds (set vertically instead of horizontally). Then I really liked the baguette-round channel bands....and finally I''ve been leaning towards a channel band with round diamonds only

For reference, here are pictures of my ring from Blue Nile...I love it and it sparkles like crazy!!!: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/someone-pinch-me-im-engaged.57719/page-2

I don''t really want FI to spend too much...given all the expenses we have right now, so I''m not looking at a full eternity. The one that I liked best at a store we visited had 11 or 12 diamonds with total weight of 0.5 carats. I want it to be nice obviously, but with such small stones you can sacrifice quality a little bit...can''t you?. I saw Bluenile has one in white gold for $900. Could I do any better than that in terms of price?. It seems at the local store here I can find it cheaper, but the color and inclusions are slightly below. My eye can''t tell the difference, so I just don''t know.

Also, if my e-ring is platinum do I *have* to stay with Platinum??. We''ve been looking at white gold, just for budget reasons...

Anyway, I am hoping you awesome PSers can help this old friend

Thank you!!!

Looking at the prongs on your center stone, it appears that you won't get a band to sit flush, is that right? I was thinking a bezel set eternity or similar might sit more flush, unless you're firm about the channel set. You might be able to get a 1 ct eternity for just slightly more than $900, like around $1200. I've been eyeing them up everywhere. Or what about a 7 or 9 stone shared prong? It's just my personal preference, but when I tried channel set bands with my solitaire, they just kind of sat there for me.

ETA: I'm not sure what Pl and WG would look like together. If you need a Platinum band, that will probably be much more expensive.

I don''t think ti will sit completely flush, but close enough. That doesn''t really bother me. What is a bezel set eterinity?.

Where did you see a full eternity for $1200?. FI said I should get what I want, but I really don''t want him spending too much....so I think I''m ok with a half eternity...plus my fingers are small so 12 diamonds wrap around it well enough.

I didn''t really like how the shared prong looked once I tried it (even though before trying any one that''s what I wanted!). I like how the channel compliments the metal on the ring. I wonder if I should go back and try on more...

Thank you for chimming in!

You should take a close look at Facets. They have channel bands, eternity channel bands, shared prong bands, etc., in platinum for under $1100, or slightly over. I pretty much haunt that site daily. You might find something that you like there.
