Hi all

I am finalizing my stud selection. I went and looked in shops and for my ear 0.4 to 0.5 stone in each ear looks great. And I like the F-G-H in colors and VS2 is good, maybe SI 1 ? not sure. Its my first diamond so I want it to be nice and sparkly so I understand the best cut will sparkle the most. So I am wondering if Hearts and arrows is worth the extra money to pay for?

1) Whiteflash 0.8ctw, both are H, VS2 but expert cut--$2248

Whats the difference between BG signature cut and Blue diamond?

3) BG, HA, 0.85Ctw G, VS2, $3004

If budget was upto 4000$ +/- 200 which would you select of these? Or any others? We don’t need to spend all the money in budget. Ty

gentle bump, any expert has any advice?

diamond6,

You have asked, I am paraphrasing here, if top cut-quality is worth the extra $$ when you want you diamond to 'sparkle more'. Here on PScope you will get a nearly universal 'yes' that cut-quality is King when selecting a diamond. You have selected some very pretty diamonds and, by-and-large, you will find that expert cut commands a premium in price.

My advice is to call the vendors you are wanting to work with and have them talk you through the expected performance of each diamond- I am sure you will find something that you will fall in love with.

I'm no expert, but I did get studs recently. I matched a WF diamond with an existing diamond I had. I contacted WF and told them what I wanted to do and they helped through every step of the way. They are awesome to work with!!

As to size, if you have the funds, I would go as big as I can now. Why? Because one, I like a bigger size on my ear. At first I thought 6.8mm was big (about 1.2 ct), but I've had my studs on every day for over a month now, and I'm totally over the "it's kinda big" feeling. I could definitely move up to 1.5 per ear. Two, if you want to upgrade in the future, it may take a while because you're upgrading two diamonds.

As to color and cut? With WF, I was plenty happy with their expert selection. I do not feel the need for the ACA stones. That is just me. I decided to go higher in color. My ering is an F, and I am used to that color light return. I had bought a pair of I, VS2s from WF, but returned them. I ended up getting a G, SI1. I am ok going with an eye clean SI1 since I can't see the inclusions, and I prioritized color and size over clarity at this time. When I look in the mirror, the size and color make a bigger impact to my eye than the clarity.

With WF, lots of their stock settings are returnable. Just check before you place your order. You have 30 days to try your selected pieces and if you want to make any changes, choose another setting, change the stones, they are more than accommodating.

That very much depends, if you want the ' pedigree' of a branded h&a diamond then it can definitely be worth the money, otherwise if you just want beautiful, sparkly stones, Expert Selection could fit the bill perfectly.

Whats the difference between BG signature cut and Blue diamond? BG Blue are Brian's range of fluorescent diamonds, they are still beautifully cut but this line all fluoresce.

I think I would choose the largest pair, they are all excellently cut, just check the SI stone is eye clean to your specifications should you decide to go with that pair from WF.
