I want to buy a diamond RHR but don''t want to spend too much. Should I buy this ring? http://www.thefacetscollection.com/item.cfm?item_id=1747

The ring will have approximately 4 round diamonds approximately weighing 0.30 carat total weight with F-G color and VVS-VS clarity. Size 3. I got a price quote of around $375.

I know it''s not that much money but I''m just not sure if I should buy more jewelry so soon after my ring upgrade and earring purchase. Buy or wait awhile? What do you think of the price? Or should I wait and get a ring with larger diamonds (> .30ctw)?

snlee-

I think the facets piece is beautiful and that you would get a lot of wear out of it but weren''t you looking to get a full eternity band as a wedding ring? If so, why not go for something a little different for your right hand, maybe a little color or with a design in diamonds to shake things up? Variety is the spice of life.....

buy it!!! (wow, it''s easy to spend other peoples'' money!

seriously though, if you want an eternity rhr....that''s a nice one. and i like the price!
of course, you could always wait and get bigger diamonds if that''s what you want....
personally, i like the look of the smaller diamonds....classy and understated. then again, i''m in the minority on that for sure!
can''t wait to see what you decide!!

fountainfairfax - yeah, I am thinking about getting the eternity band as a wedding band. But that''s not going to be anytime soon. I won''t be getting married for another 1.5 - 2 years (hopefully! if all goes as planned). You do bring up a good point. Both rings will look similar from the top view. Hmmm...but I''m not too into color gem stones. I want a simple diamond band.

belle, this rings isn''t an eternity band. I wish an eternity band was that cheap! Hehe. I too like the look of the smaller diamonds.

well, since it will be a little while ''till the wedding band then you should get the 4-stone and tell your fiance it''s a training ring! And the size you are looking at will be perfect, because you don''t want it to compete with that rock weighing down your left hand!

and later on you could get two thin bands to go on either side...but I''m getting ahead of myself

let us know what you decide and have fun making that decision!

Has anyone ever bought or looked into buying a similar ring? I''m curious to know if this price is good or not........

Think it would look weird with 4 diamonds? I notice that most rings like this one have an uneven number of diamonds like 5 or 7. Think I should ask if it can be made with 5 diamonds? Or does it really not matter how many?

sevens one, the ring I''m looking at is very similar to yours but with smaller diamonds. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this. Thanks!

Odd numbers are suppose to look better, I believe. Or at least I read this in a home decorating book. lol

The $375 price quote sounds like a great deal. I''ve looked at similar rings at the mall and they had average cut H/I SI stones set in gold for about that price.

If you''re unsure, why not wait a bit, hide the money, and then when you know for sure, buy the ring.

Darn. I was quoted the wrong price. I new it was too good to be true!

The ring with 4 diamonds in size 3 will be $445. 5 diamonds will be $500.

Hi Snlee,
I''m in the same situation as you, trying to find a right hand ring. I notice that you don''t have a wedding band, why don''t you concentrate on getting that first, a right hand ring can always wait. You can always get an inexpensive but nice sterling silver ring for you right hand for now. That''s what I''m doing, just so it doesnt feel so naked. I like a right hand ring thats a little different & has a little color so I''m looking for a right hand ring that has sapphires & diamonds in it. Just a thought, jazz up the hand a little.
