Whether the second diamond is worth 3,000 more is really up to you and your comfort spending that much.

Getting a stone below the one carat mark is a great savings! The thing about the first stone- more me at least is that its a tad on the deep side, even though it scores well on the HCA

What lab is grading these two stones?

they are both AGS as is this third one: ($5,300)

Carat Weight: 0.825
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Cut Grade: ACA- Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Flourescence: Neg
Depth: 61.6%
Table: 56.0%
Crown Angle: 34.9
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Girdle: Slightly Thin-Med
Cutlet: Pointed
Star Length: 56
Lower Half: 77

when you mean a little too deep, what depth % should I be looking at? Ideally, I would love to find a stone like this but between 0.9-0.99 ct, but I have not been able to find one in my price range. :(

If this one is eye-clean and you are willing to drop down a bit in colour this would fall into your price range and still allow you to hit the 1 carat mark.

Oops, posted the wrong link, I was looking at this stone, it is more likely to be eye-clean but you can check them both out with GOG if you're interested in either. The other one has strong blue fluor, which may or may not be your preference. Anyways here's the diamond I was referring to in my previous post.
