Long time lurker, first time poster, looking to finalize purchase tomorrow. Shopping for upgrade, please help me choose between the following two diamonds:

hca = 1.5

price virtually the same, gia diamond has better hca score & spread, ags diamond potential h&a??

haven't seen any pics or in person, but feel comfortable enough to purchase online unless someone talks me out of it

You are looking at a very nice upgrade! First of all, one doesn't have a better HCA score than the other. The scores under 2.0 are equal in value. The numbers are better on the second stone, in my opinion. I wouldn't want a crown angle under 34 personally. And there is definitely an advantage to buying an AGS Ideal Cut when you can't see the two stones to compare them. So I would choose the AGS stone in this case, definitely. I don't know who the vendor is on the AGS stone, but it would be nice if they had an upgrade policy. Even though we have no intention of trading in a stone when we get it, there is no telling later how we might change our minds and want larger size, better color, etc., etc.!
