I''m looking for a smallish(1-1.5 total wt) three stone ring, and I like Hearts on Fire because they seem to have a wide variety of 3-stone settings, and I''m having trouble finding a wide variety of 3-stone settings from other jewelers.

Does anyone know if HOF will sell just the setting? And if anyone has experience with this if you had to buy the diamonds from the brick and mortar HOF jeweler, or if you were able to get diamonds online and then have someone set them somehow. I tried searching past posts and didn''t have much luck weeding through them, but maybe someone else whould know how to better narrow down the search?

I will try to post the picture of the particular setting I am interested in below, the link for the movie is:

Thank you so much for any help!

Is the setting pictured on the HOF website? If so what is the name of it? (I don''t like to download movies, then have to go look for the right program to run it, etc - leaves the door open to too many viruses!) :)

From the pictures it seems alot like Aljdeweys setting, from WF, but with a white metal...let me see if I can find her pictures for you.

I don''t think that HOF sells just settings...but I''d call and ask a HOF dealer to be sure.

You could always have something somewhat similar made custom..with tweaks to make it your own. Good luck!

Hi! Its on their website, its the Sincerity 3-stone ring.

I really love the basket (is that the right term?), but I think it might stick out so much that I wouldn''t be able to wear a wedding ring with it. Unfortunatly all the HOF jewelers my boyfriend and I have been to have only had a few of there settings in stock, so I haven''t been able to try it on.

Does it look so delicate that it might get damaged easily even if its in platinum? I''m going to be a doctor and working with my hands a lot, so that is a concern of mine.

Does this look like what you were thinking of...like ecf I dont like to download things onto my computer, but I saw the tumbnails you posted and they instantly made me think og her rings, I hope this helps.

It is very nice but not out of this world intricate... ''guess you could have a ring like that made with at least as good results.

The ring looks very ''normal'' - neither too dainty or too heavy.

True enough, I can''t say I have seen the exact design somewhere else and there may not be that many interesting three stone rings out there. The one included in the picture below (on black background) is not lmuch like the HOF aside the roundish, tappered shank, but seems related for some reason.

It took forever for HOF''s .mov file to download, so I included some snapshots of it to show your wonderful pick of the crop in a more handy format

There are two sorts of solitaire with the prongs somewhat close to the HOF''s ring: one is a generic (pre made, off the rack) so called ''tulip'' solitaire that comes in several versions including one rather close. The other is a signature solitaire ring by (who was it?) with marquise diamonds inserted in the prongs - quite a piece, that one.

Here's the 'tulip solitaire' allright...

I can't imagine why a three stone ring could not be assembled with three tulip style heads after all - although finer solutions are out there.

This is a 'generic' setting - the parts are sold separately by casting companies to jeweler for assembly, asn this is how this one was made.

Better finish is feasible and the band of your ring could be made to look like HOF's. Probably using pre-made parts would end up allot less expensive than all-out custom work and this would mena ... larger diamonds, of course. However, even very good custom work may sound like a 'bargain' compared to HOF's brand premium.

And this is the ... crazy

version with diamonds inlayed in the prongs.

Here it is:

Wow, thanks so much for all the similar settings. I really like the snap shots Valeria! You are awesome. I like the tulip settings, but I haven''t seen one as a three stone ones. I guess one of the things about the HOF setting is that it seems to be quite low compairibly, but maybe that''s just because the pictures are smaller. The J. B. star ring is really beautiful, I will have to check out more from that designer.
I would love to have custom work done, but my boyfriend, soon to be fiance, and i don''t have much experience buying jewelry, so it makes me more nervous than buying something that I can see ahead of time and know how it will turn out. I really want something with around a 0.75 ct center stone though, and with HOF I could really only get a 0.5 ct center stone within our budget.
Thanks so much for all your input!

Well, you will see the ring and have the opportunity to do adjustments - even on a custom project.
But this is your call, of course.

In the meantime... THIS is a three stone ring with petal-like prongs too.
